Spinoff: How old is your car and how many miles?

My husband has been driving a 1994 Toyota Corolla that had 240,000 miles on it! It ran great even without regular maintenance. Until he was in a minor accident. It doesn't take much to total a 17 year old car. He just bought a 2010 Nissan Altima last month.

12 1/2 years with something like 180k on it. Still runs pretty well, too! :) It's a Saturn SL2.

I'm hoping to get 15 years out of it and buy my next car in cash, but we'll have to see how it keeps running.

My '96 Ford conversion van (we bought it new in '97) has just under 200,000 miles on it. DH drives an '02 Ford Focus that has about 140,000 miles on it.

'97 Explorer with 157,000 miles on it. Our goal is for it to survive one last winter, and then start looking at new cars for me in the spring.

2004 Toyota Sienna with 87,000 miles on it. It had almost 60,000 when we bought it 3 years ago. We're hoping to keep it two more years at least.

Mine: 2002 - 145,000 - we bought in 2004 w/40K
DH: 1997 - 210,000 - we bought about 5 years ago w/130K
DS: 2002 - 110,000 - we bought 6 months ago

We never buy brand new and we drive them for forever

We've got a Chevy Cavalier from 2000 that runs perfectly with 145,000 on it. We also have a '99 Ford Pickup with about 130,000 on it.

They are completely payment free, so they'll be used until everything falls off of them. :rotfl:

1995 Dodge Grand Caravan with at least 200,000 miles and runs well except she hates the rain. It's like my car has arthritis.

2001 Ford Windstar...154,000 and 1997 Mistubishi Diamante 174,000. We will drive them both until they die...completely! We did replace the transmission in the van two years ago...but that was still cheaper than a car payment.

DD's car is a 1993 Merc Topaz with 56,000 miles.

I have a 2003 Chevy Tracker with 82,500 miles. Will drive it as long as I can, where else can I find a 4WD with a manual transmission.

1993 town car 185,000 miles. got rear ended a few years ago by a new mercedes. Couldn't tell it was hit. The other guy couldn't open his front doors. Caved in his front. Two tow trucks had to pull us apart. One driver said "built Ford tough." One benefit of building a car on a steel frame.

We have a 2000 Mercedes ML430 with 124,000 miles (bought in 2002 with 30,000) and a 2003 Yukon with 135,000 (bought in 2006 with 50,000). My parents have a 1988 Mercedes with 350,000 miles that they use as their second car.

I have a 2003 Saturn with 58K on it. I have a 2 mile (4 miles round trip) commute to work, hence the low miles. My car has been paid off for a number of years, and I really would like to give it to DS next summer, as he graduates from HS and heads off to college. I am not so sure I want to take on a new vehicle payment though, so we'll see.

2001 Voyager with 115,000...thing has been a tank, has only needed routine maintenance.

2010 Dodge Journey with 8,500 miles.

We tend to keep our cars for year and years - DH traded in a Chevy Lumina with 300,000 miles on it when we bought the van.

My car is a 2003 and I just hit 146,000 miles the other day. :scared1:
I have a long commute.

2010 Rav 4 with 300 miles!!! We just got it a couple weeks ago.
