Spinoff from plumber post - What do you 'hire out'?

We are pretty handy (DH can build anything), but if something is going to take several days longer for us to do it than a professional, then we'd much rather hire someone to do it for us. Also we hire out if something has the chance to cause HUGE problems if we make a mistake ourselves (like major plumbing repairs and installations). And aside from washing the cars and putting on new windshield wipers , we almost always take the car to the shop.

Most everything, especially if the danger of electrocution exists.

But actually, it is due more to the fact that our family has very little "us" time in our lives, & I'd rather spend it playing around than laying tile.

I just call maintenance (I live in an apartment complex). After all, that's what they get paid for! What they can't fix, I fix...or I call my dad to fix. Regarding my car...I can change a tire and check the oil. That's about it.

DH is extremely handy around the house. We rarely hire out. Only for major appliance repairs & computer repairs. DH fininshed our entire basement - including rough-in for the full bathroom.
He managed to cut a space in the cabinet, run electric & water from the exact opposite end of the house and install the diswasher. Now if he could get the hang of putting his dirty dishes into that same dishwasher.....

Don't start with the dishwasher, it amazes me that DH can take stuff out of the cupboards, but not replace same item in same place when unloading the dishwasher. Nor is he able to load the dishwasher useing the same dish placement as it is when he unloads it. And then gets mad at me if I rearrange it!

considering the car is in about 897,425,135 pieces...no. heheh he WANTS to put a Hemi in it eventually...he's completely gutted the car (then we moved and the whole project was put on hold)...it's an expensive hobby...he'll eventually get around to re-building it...

I already guess 2017 before it's finished. heheheh
