Spinoff: BOG Breakfast-How Early to See A&E?

when we went last year, A&E was a already a 45 minute wait just from the time we entered after watching the opening ceremony show and walking back there (literally people running thru the park to get in line). If you don't have a fast pass (and I'm assuming you're eating at BOG first thing, then going to hop in line after), you may as well assume a long wait for the regular line.

I'm curious, too. I might have to go this route if I can't score that coveted FP+, and it's looking like there's a good chance I won't. :sad2: I would think the line would be shorter if you went from BOG than rope drop though if they work it like the 7DMT? :confused3 I guess it depends on when they let you start lining up?

We saw them standby last Sunday...posted wait time was 40, we waited less than20. This was around 10 am...so all is not lost.

I had an 8:05 BOG ADR with a 9:00 opening a couple weeks ago. We preordered and were done with breakfast by about 8:30. Once we made it over to A&E, we were third in line. Did A&E, Rapunzel, Cinderella, and the carousel before official opening at 9.

Awesome! This is what I was hoping for :) Is there a separate place to line up for the Mine and A&E? If that sounds stupid I apologize - I haven't been to Disney in over 15 years. Thank you!

Spinoff of the thread "BOG Breakfast - How Many Trips Through the Mine"? I would love to hear your experience in getting in line for A&E. I accidentally made our FP for 10:50 PM instead of AM :crazy2: so I'm hoping after breakfast we can line up like for the Mine. Has anyone done this?

Check out this post on Josh's blog from earlier this year shortly after the BOG breakfast started:

He went the Seven Dwarfs route, but you can get an idea from his descriptions how the morning could go, plus he talks about the waiting areas outside BOG in Fantasyland up until park opening time.

There is! The Mine Train line is just right past the bridge to BOG. The A&E line is next to Fairytale Hall.

Interesting. Our last trip in 2013 Tinkerbell was the one to run to at Rope Drop (or Merida). We were the first in line for Tinkerbell one morning. It was a 9am opening day and she didn't come on until 9:30. I just assumed this was how it would be with A&E or other characters too. So, that 30 minute gap between opening and characters meeting no longer exists?

A&E went park open to park close a few months back, due to high demand I presume. Don't know if that is going to stay or not, but you would pass by the entrance on the way to 7DMT, depending upon which way you go, so if it is not open yet (ask a castmember) then jump to 7DMT. The entrances to both are not too far apart.

I didn't even know this was a possibility. Does anyone know? Their 'schedule' for that day says they start at 9 and it is a 9 am opening.

A&E start meeting right as the welcome show completes, so usually about 15 minutes before park opening. Cinderella and Rapunzel start at the official park opening. So typically 8:45 for A&E, 9 for C&R.

We have an 840 BOG and are hoping to do the same thing if we can't get A&E fast passes (which im betting we can't).... I've been told there are lots of things to see while waiting in line so hopefully its not terrible. This is the one thing my 2 year old actually gets about Disney world. If you ask her if shes going to Disney she says "yes I see Elsa!" so i feel like whatever the wait I'm going to have to make it work!

At 8:40 you're gonna be pressed for time even if you are speed eaters. You would have to power through everything and eat it more or less while you walk in order to still beat the rope drop crowds who run there. I would just continue checking for fast passes if you don't initially get them, so you won't feel so rushed and frustrated that you wasted a breakfast.

It worked like a dream for us in June. I didn't dare tell my DD3 the plan until we were being let into the line in case it didn't work out. We left BOG at 8:40 after eating at a normal pace, we did pre-order but were directed into a line to wait to pay that took a little longer than I'd expected. When we left we walked toward PFH and saw a CM standing about 20 feet from the entrance to the queue with five other people. We were told to wait with them and that he'd walk us into line when it was time. Once the welcome music ended at 8:48 he led us over and we watched the rope drop crowd rush around the carousel as we walked through the ropes to go inside. Once I told my DD why we had been waiting there it was the best surprise! Good luck to you!

Go early. When we went they weren't enforcing the reservation time. We had an 8:15 reservation and was allowed to enter when the restaurant opened at 8:00.

Do you remember what time you were done by?

Definitely go early, we had a similar ADR time, and were let in the park at 7:45 am, and into the restaurant as soon as it opened at 8. Can't promise the CM's would let you in, but I would say it is a really good bet.
