I was reading about the Spiderman "ride" and it talks about a "plunge" at the end. Can someone describe it? How dizzy will I get. ??? thanks M

Hi,

I am not sure if I can explain this ride well enough to give it proper justice. It is great ride!!!!!
My husband and I went on it 3 times while we were there. The drop at the end is not dark. Your
car plummets off the top of building and just at the last minute Spiderman's web catches you before
you hit the ground. It is the best simulator ride ever!!!!!!

I am sure you will enjoy it.
Hope this helps a bit.

I went on this ride at least a dozen times over four days with my fiance and he still thinks the car actually rises and falls (he he he). The point is that the simulated fall is very realistic and exciting but since you know it is just simulated it is not really frightening. I am not sure of the dizziness or motion sickness stuff as I have never had such trouble but you must ride Spidey, you will find yourself reriding all day long.

The drop is very realistic, at least to me! Whenever I go on it, I have to keep myself from yelling like I do on the coasters!! Great fun!:bounce:

If you find yourself getting dizzy, just close your eyes or even take off the 3D glasses. Without them you can see that it's all effects which may calm your vertigo!

Have Fun!

From what I remember on the documentary, the car drops 1 inch when that scene starts. This fools you into thinking you are dropping off the side of the building.

What's the drop like?
Words can't describe it, but I'll try.
You're in the car, you get whacked to the top of a building with a anti-gravity gun, the gun shuts off, the nose of the car points at the ground, you're looking straight down at the ground from a sky scraper, you fall, it feels like you're falling, then Spiderman catches you and the bad guys at the same time, and tells you to have a nice day. You'll be cheering at this point.

Actually the drop is 9 inches but is done so well that I forget every time. From what I have heard, the ride vehicles(scoops) has been souped up and the motions are more fluid realistic than ever before. If you get dizzy I would suggest to focus your attention away from the screens and on something to the side of the scoop or look down into your lap. Personally I don't think you have anything to worry about. The drop is over with pretty fast and then thats it, ride over, exit this way. Have a great trip!

OOPS! After posting this I realized that I had not completely answered your question...sorry:rolleyes:

Ok, the drop happens when you are shot by Doc Oc and then are taken to the top of a very tall building by Hob Gobblin. Then as Spidey is fighting the baddies Doc Oc shots you again and you start to fall. Right before you splat on the street below Spidey shoots a web and saves you. One of the greatest effects hear is the music, it's really fast and loud. Fits perfectly IMHO.

Ahh, to be the spoiler.. but it's just my nature. For all the guesses to how much the car moves or doesn't move......

BuZZZZZZZ....

Nobody wins the prize. Close, but no cigar. Sorry, but I had to do it.

Thanks everyone for the description. It sounds exciting and I can handle a few inch drop (or more) I can't wait- but still have three weeks to go....... THANKS M

LOL. Can you believe I actually feel dizzy and feel my mind 'floating' like I'm in the ride right now. LOL!!! And it's a great feeling too!!! :D

ya spiderman makes you feel like you own the whole place (kinda like the feeling you get after a coaster minus the nausated part)
