Aarrggghhhh :scared1:

I know this is the time of year that spiders appear in the house but I have never known as many as this year. There seems to be a constant relay of them, sometimes as many as three a night and each one is bigger than the last!!

Is anyone else experiencing more than usual this year?

Oh please don't say that there are more than normal :scared1: So far I've only seen a few (touch wood that continues), but I know they'll be coming  I hate this time of year

We've been having them for about a fortnight now but only had one last night so maybe they're stopping please please :worship: :worship:

We've been decorating so maybe the rubbing down of the walls is what's bringing them out :confused3 :confused3 OMG I am totally freaking out now of the idea that they are living in the wall cavities. I hope someone else is getting more than normal so I'll know it's not just us!! :lmao:

We're getting them - lots of them!

I've had to get DF to capture three in our bedroom over the last couple of days :sad2: It's totally freaking me out, I hate them! He missed one this morning so it's now under the bed and I just know I won't rest tonight now :sad1:

And like you say, they seem to have mutated over summer, these ones I've noticed (so far) have been bigger than usual :scared1:

We're getting a lot too. I saw a huge one on the stairs the other day. :scared1: I'm not normally scared of spiders but it was MASSIVE! :rotfl:

I hate spiders....

Once I was laid in bed and on the wall opposite there was a HUGE spider. I screamed and shouted for my DH but he told me to hang on as he was on the loo! The spider then started moving along to wall towards the light switch so I screamed to my DH to hurry up as the spider was going to turn the light off!

Dh has never let me live it down :lmao:

we've had loads of them, there was two massive ones in the bath, sure they were tarantulas ;) luckily we have my ds who removes them and also a spider killing dog who quickly terminates any near him!

off topic
also have a mouse in my living room  pest control should be here today :wizard:

We always have a lot, as our house backs on to the woods, but I can't say we've had any extra lately.

I quite like spiders and tend to have a little chat with them before putting them outside, but Jack isn't a fan at all!

Bella and Boo (my cats) also do a good job of catching them for us, and the bonus is it keeps the very high maintenence Boo quite for a good 45 minutes if he has one to follow around! I did feel sorry for the one I found last week who was walking in a circle as he only had 3 legs left. :(

we have been having alot since summer and i mean the really big ones, it was even on the news about them, not dangerous but still very big and scary
This is one the umm small ones we (sorry if this scares anyone)

we are geting lots, don't bother me. It's wasps that freak me out. I did rescue a ladybird from a small spider the other day and a few minutes later it was being eaten by a bigger spider:eek:

Even that photo freaks me out  I'm getting worse with them as I get older too, I spent the first 20 minutes at home this evening 'looking' for the blighter from this morning :sad2: It's not a good time for me at the moment...

When we used to find a daddy long legs in the house i would catch it then release it outside as there all gods little creatures
then i found out that there young (leather jackets )eat the the roots of the grass in our garden(ended up bald), had to get some nano-nights to get rid of them
Now its kill the little blighter's every time
Paul

Glad it's not just us suffering with so many and I do hope you find that spider before you go to bed, Rachel.

As for daddy long legs, they are just as scary  it's all that fluttering around and then they divebomb you from all angles :scared1: :scared1: at least you can jump on a chair away from a spider. Eek, I have goosebumps just thinking about them!! :rotfl2:

I hate the daddy long legs too. :eek:You can't turn on the lights in the evening without making sure every window is shut otherwise the little blighters are in and fluttering all around the light fitting. *shudder*.

I screamed to my DH to hurry up as the spider was going to turn the light off!

:lmao:I'm sorry, I am not making fun of you but you have to admit that is a good one!

We have had loads of them this year. I don't mind them but what really annoys me is all the moths this year. It is the most irritating thing trying to do something with a moth banging against the light shades. Grrr. I grab the nearest aerosol can to where I am standing/sitting and get them. My approach is: Get it before it gets you! So my bugs have been doomed with anything from deoderant to oven cleaner and everything in between. :rolleyes1

Absolutely "Mahoosive" ones that I can ignore but that freak Eve out altogether :lmao:

We have loads of them too and I hate them. Our back garden is like a horror film. I'm scared to hang the washing out.:scared1:

I'm scared to hang the washing out.:scared1:

Me too!! I have to get my other half to check there are no spiders near the washing line before I even go outside!!

My best trick to keep spiders out, as crazy as it sounds is to put conkers in the corner of the windowsills in each room, or in the corners of bedrooms (just be careful putting them on the floor as i've had to rescue a few from my dogs mouth!! so it's probably best to put on windowsills) apparently spiders don't like the smell (i didn't even know that they could smell anything!?)

Hopefully your house will be spider free!!

We have had quite a few this year, DH usually saves them with a cup and puts them outside, I did capture one last week with my Apple Cider Yankee Candle Jar though becuase DH wasn't home, so this jar was sat in the middle of the lounge for about 2 hours until he got in to get rid of it, I am sure that spider was high by the time he was released outside!

I must say that if I can't get them at arms distance like that though I have been known to get the Dyson out and suck em up it!

I hate moths, they are my most hated creature in the world, I cannot be in the room with one, especially the big ones, I hyperventilate and everything, it's a serious phobia, passed on from my mom to me as she hates them too! :rotfl:

Arghhhh, moths and butterflies Gem - no real idea why though

Even if they're dead and mounted on a board, a fabric print, etc, etc I start to panic :confused3
