Spiders on Indiana Jones?

I was wondering if there are any spiders on the IJ ride. On another post I had someone mentioned that they thought their might be and someone else thought it was just a video of some bugs. But then I was reading an article on the ride and it had this insert:

"It's also not for those who might be disturbed by dark places, skeletons, spiders, rats, snakes (snakes, why did it have to be snakes?), and other creepy crawlies."

Now I am a little worried cause I am a huge Arachnaphobe.

There is one corner where they project spiders onto the wall, that's the only place I can think of.

In Indy's defense, the "spiders" projected on the wall are not big and just look like other bugs scurrying around, plus they are only lit up for max 5 seconds total.

I'm intensely afraid of spiders, and don't even remember seeing the projection. I'm the type that spots every spider everywhere and runs screaming, so for me to not have seen that means it must be very quick or very small or very hard to tell that it's spiders.

On a side note, this ride is SO much fun. I was laughing my head off the whole time and can't wait to get on on our upcoming trip.

There is one section on IJA that has spiders projected on the wall, it is very brief.
Just remember there not real spiders

As the other people said the Spiders are projected and only for about 5 seconds.

But the last time I got to ride it the projection wasnt shown so that part was just fully dark.. was a bit odd.

The car stops at the projected spider wall momentarily and then makes a right turn and continues. This is where I reach out tickle their necks. I have been doing this for years and they love it. But on another note, my youngest will not even take a shower if she see's a spider in the room. I guess make believe makes a difference.

Lol yeah even fake spiders I can't look at. If it's just during that moment I will just close my eyes though I won't miss it over something that small. What is it after so I can have some warning?

I have a video on youtube of the ride if you wish to watch it to see what it is like. But if this is your first time riding it, I don't want to ruin the experience for you. Your call. :)

From what I remember from the ride the projection of the spiders almost look more like shadows of spiders. For me it doesn't really even seem like there are spiders there but their shadows. Don't know how your fear of spider shadows are but to me it's not that bad. BTW...I don't like spiders and my DD is even more afraid than me and she loved the ride.

I'm not sure you understand how short and what a limited view you have of these "bug projections". Anyway, if you must close your eyes, it is immediately after the skeleton caves.

OMG I never knew those were supposed to be spiders being projected on the wall!
My eyesight can't be THAT bad, but I always thought they were just some kind of generic bugs, like roaches.

I agree- they never have looked like spiders to me- they look like fat bugs like beetles and roaches.

I thought they were scarabs, but I guess you can make them out to be spiders. It is so quick I have never really focused.

Oh ok if it is that quick and you can barely tell if they are spiders I will definetely be fine, Thanks!

I see them in the same way. There's no time to actually count legs. Beetles are fine...but once you add 2 more legs I'm not OK at all.

Yep. I'm extremely phobic, and to me they look like 6 legged beetles. I'm absolutely fine in that section, and that's saying a lot (considering my reaction in it's tough to be a bug!).

I am horribly afraid of spiders but I have no problems on IJ, it's one of my absolute favorite rides ever. :) I just say they are bugs/scarabs and enjoy the ride.

I rode it last night and looked specificially for the spiders on the wall!

The verdict: It's mostly scarabs and then there's about 3 spiders, but you have to look pretty hard to make them out. So arachnophobes can avoid them pretty easily.

And it would be such a shame to avoid that ride! I can't imagine skipping it.

Ok thanks for checking! I will be fine then I just won't pay close attention lol.
