Yesterday, when entering Express entrance, a large family of 7-8 each showed their individual hotel cards to attendant so he could run them thru a portable, hand-held scanner.
We just showed him mine & he scanned it 3 times (for the 3 of us).
Asked him point blank if this is in preparation of the "once per day, per card" deal ... he responded affirmative!
Nothing's changed yet, AND.... he could be lying or was yanking my chain.
Just passin' on the news!

It's only a matter of time.
Was there on 07/19, Hulk had an express line wait of 20 minutes at noon. They we're filling the back 3 rows of the coaster. The regular queue said 60 minutes.
The next day at Universal we went in the express line of T2. Funny, there we're many more people in the express line than regular.

Does anybody know when they are going to introduce this? Do you know if it will be for all the attractions or only those with particularly long express lines? We have been to US/IOA several times but are having our first onsite stay next month. Knowing our luck they will have changed it by then.

RP added 1,000 rooms, there are 2 more hotels being considered and Universal is now selling Express passes. I'm sure they are considering some limitations. Previously someone posted Universal was considering 1 per hour (not per day). Basically stopping you from going right back on the express line. I suspect scanners are necessary just to reduce people using key cards from previous trips and/or "losing" room keys to get extras for off-site friends. Even with limitations you should be able to get a conventional Express pass with your park tickets.
