Spiceycat (or anyone else) - where should I stay?

Spiceycat - I always find your posts informative and was hoping you could give me some advice. We have a ressie at the Villas at Grand Cypress for a 1 Br (for our family of 5). We plan to do some Universal, some Seaworld and some just hanging out at the resort (which is why we picked Grand Cypress for all its activities for the kids and great pool) (no Disney this time). Well now I'm having second thoughts and the lure of Front of the line access is pulling me to a Universal resort. We'll be there end of June - so super busy time. I found a rate comparable to our Grand Cypress rate for a Suite at the Royal Pacific resort. So, my long winded question is - stick with Grand Cypress (remember this isn't Cypress Pointe, its the Hyatt resort) or switch over to Royal Pacific suite. The folks over at the Universal Resorts board tell me Front of the line access will be important for a June stay but I'm torn. The Grand Cypress seems beautiful. Any advice would be appreciated!

we stayed at Royal Pacific to go with the front of line access and mother loved the hotel so much we never left.

(so did Spicey by the way)

Loews Hotel are not quite up to the Hyatt - but they are a great hotel!

so tough choice -

however if you main theme park for this trip is the Loews - I would go with
it - with the front of line access you can do the parks in a record time.

Besides the Royal Pacific is a much newer hotel than Grand Cypress by years.

the downside is that Grand Cypress has many more activities than RP. However your kids can meet other kids there age at the RP much easier than the GC.

we had a hotel room - 2 queen beds and a day bed. It was very nice!!! So I would think a suite would be just fine at RP.

Could you not split your stay? Just stay at the RP for the days that you will be at Universal and move for the rest of your stay?

Spiceycat - I knew I could count on you for advice. Given the fact we'll be there at such a busy time I think we have to go with FOTL. The Grand Cypress will have to wait for a time when we're just going to hang out at the resort.
We thought about splitting the stay but honestly with 3 small kids in tow I can't bring myself to go through the hassle of packing up and moving. And, the last 4 days of our trip we drive down South to visit relatives (which means a different hotel).
Thanks for the input - it always helps.

If I can put my two cents in......Don't know anything about the Grand Cypress but the RP is a beautiful hotel. We have stayed here every year since their grand opening in 2002 ( I think?). Besides the FOTL, the convenience of staying at a Universal Resort can't be beat. In the past, we have stayed offsite and would never consider doing so again. It really is a hassle getting in and out of the parks, whereas when staying onsite, it's just a short relaxing walk back to your hotel room. I don't think you'll be sorry staying here.
