Looking for a Different restaurant to try..Spice Road Table..any comments

Here's my response about Tangerine Cafe and SRT from last night:

Spice Road Table is my favorite restaurant in Epcot - even over MP. The setting by the lake is just precious, the food is terrific, and I find it super cheap - but left to my own devices, I would always eat tapas style. They have some interesting apertifs and really, while Tangerine Cafe is great, for a tiny bit more money, SRT is outstanding. I may like their grape leaves more than the ones I slave over at home to make from hand. Certainly better than I get in Nashville or most places outside of NYC or Chicago. I really have 0 bad to say about it, and I'm kinda a food snob.

We love SRT too. I can't tell you how many times we've gone to Epcot planning to eat QS (or food booths!) and DH has said "Let's see if SRT can seat us!" and we've eaten there. Love their food and service.

Ate there in March and loved it. We got a seat on the outdoor terrace/patio, right at the fence, all prepped for a perfect view of Illuminations. Our reservation was at 6:30 (which was a bit early for Illuminations) but our plan was to order our entrees, eat and then keep ordering small plates until Illuminations. I got the Mixed Grill Skewers, and my friend got the Coriandor-crusted rack of lamb, both of which were excellent. We only got to try one small plate, due to an extraordinarily slow server (seriously—we didn’t see him from 20 minutes before Illuminations until 15 minutes after it finished), but the one we got was the Brie Fondue and it was super yummy. Highly recommend Spice Road Table; just hope you don’t get our server unless you enjoy really really slow service.

It's an every trip stop for me. Love the outdoor waterside seating.

We liked it. If the menu appeals to you then you will probably enjoy it.

Spice Road Table is a MUST DO for us. It is so relaxing to sit by the water and have a few drinks and share a few items from their very yummy menu. Everything I have ever ordered there has been delicious.

We LOVE Spice Road Table! It's definitely one of our favorite restaurants in WDW. The rack of lamb is delicious, as is the mixed grill skewers. The skewers do come with Harissa sauce and it is spicy, so if you're sensitive to spice I would recommend getting it on the side. I love spice so it's wonderful for me, DH...not so much.

How are the desserts? We'll be on the dining plan so one's included, but they don't seem all that great (my sister and I don't really eat nuts, so that pretty much rules out 2/3 of them).

I want to clarify that there are no allergies, so if the nuts are easy enough to push off to the side and still enjoy the rest of the dessert that could work, too.

We LOVE Spice Road Table!! We don't usually get dessert, but I did try dessert in May because we were on the Deluxe Dining plan. Like you said, I wasn't particularly wowed by the dessert options. I decided to try to Baklava sampler (like three different Baklava flavors) and they were actually really good! Definitely something different than your standard chocolate cake dessert. They did have nuts on the top, but they were thinly sliced nuts and you could easily pull them off.

I was about to write a not-so-good review, from a visit a few years ago, but after reading these posts, I am thinking we should give it another try! I always say, when restaurants are new, they need time to work out the kinks. My original thoughts of the restaurant was that the dishes seemed over-priced, and very small. It is definitely a lovely atmosphere!

Do they have a kids menu? I checked the Disney site, but they didn't have one on the menu, but that seemed odd.
