Spending time near pool and beach at Contemporary

We are staying there for the first time and I want to spend some time near the pool and/or water the first night. Are there beach tents? Can you get a soda and drink it on the beach while watching MK's fireworks? Are there ducks walking around?

Also, with our luggage, will we be able to walk from check-in to the North Garden View building?

Are there ducks? Yes! We had a first floor north garden wing room. Every morning "Daisy, Donald, & Fred" came to our patio begging for food.

Near the pool there is a place with drinks, snacks, burgers, etc. which you may take to the pool (there are some tables near the pool), or beach.

I'm not sure if you can see the MK fireworks from the beach since the CR tower is between the MK and the CR beach.

The CR is a great place!

Yes you can walk with your luggage from check in to the North Garden Wing. There were no beach tents/cabanas when I visited this past summer.

Hi there - the Sand Bar is there to get food/drinks while you are at the pool area. There are no beach chairs/cabanas at the beach that I remember. You can watch the Electrical Water Pageant from the beach - this travels the lagoon between all the resorts - it arrives at the Contemporary around 9:55 each night - check for the time when you are there -it is really cute!

You can't really see the fireworks from the beach side of the CR, as the Magic Kingdom is on the other side of the building. You could watch from the parking lot, the 4th floor viewing area, or the 15th floor viewing area. I've heard they are denying access to the 15th floor viewing area to all but customers of the California Grill - but check it out - If you head to the left out of the elevator - you don't need to go through the restaurant to the deck on that side - and the views are incredible~

Just an FYI - one of the hot tubs is right in the middle of the main pool - for an evening swim - Mom and Dad can relax in the hot tub while still keeping an eye on the kids swimming and sliding!! Gotta love it!

The main CR pool will be closed from Feb 14 to Mar 4 (I think those are the dates) at that time we will be able to use the pools at the Poly or the Grand Floridian. I know that the beach at the Poly does have chairs at the beach and you have a great view of MK fireworks! It is just a short monorail trip away.

We watched the MK fireworks from the CR beach while we stayed there in January. The view was fine; it was especially nice for families with little kids who had already come back to the hotel and gotten the little ones ready for bed. We saw a lot of kids already in their jammies watching the fireworks, and just afterwards, the water parade..
