We have a beautiful new spa near us and is getting very popular. I took a tour and thought it would be a great birthday gift to my DH, that I get their "package" to do the day before our big trip. This is our first experience ever getting a massage!
Anyway, here it is...a four hour experience.

1. One hour massage
2. One hour pedicure
3. Lunch is served
4. One hour manicure

So from 10:00 am to approx. 2:00, we'll be there in the lap of luxury! :)

Price: 125.00 each

So what do you think?

Are you saying it's $125 each for 4 hours so $250 total (without gratuity) for all the services listed? If so, it's a steal! It's about $100 for a one hour massage alone at our local Gene Jurez. Granted, they are higher than the local massage therapist but they have a wonderful gucci service.

I had never been to a spa before and didn't think I was a spa person. DH gave me this very $$$$ gift certificate for a spa day. I was at the last week before the year up period for it to expire, putting off going (but knowing I wouldn't want to waste the $$$$). I finally went, driving to the next city- got lost- called DH at work to tell him this relaxing gift he gave me was STRESSING ME Out  !!!!!! I finally find the place and let me tell you it was one of the best experiences of my life!!!! LOVED it!!! Now, it's a standing gift for my birthday every year and DH and I have a big laugh over that first visit.

Have fun,
Jenn

Jenn, so funny about your experience! Yes, that is the entire price for the two of us (125.00 each). At first, I thought it was high, but it does include lunch. And a one hour manicure and one hour pedicure, can you imagine!! :flower:

It was kind of funny booking it for my DH, but then they told me that half their clients are men now. They love it. So this should be alot of fun for us while the kids are in school and anticipating our trip the next day.

Thanks for your feedback. :)

It would be expensive here if $125 is for one person only. I have a manicure and pedicure every 3-4 weeks: $35 Canadian for a full French pedicure ($30 for a regular) and $15 Canadian for a full manicure. For a man, the pedicures and manicures here run less because there is no polish to apply. As for a massage, it will cost anywhere from $40-50 per 45-minute session.

My kids once gave me a half-day spa, which included facial, pedicure, massage, makeup and light snack and I believe it cost around $100.

If it's $125 for two, that's a different story. Even with a decent 20-25% tip, that's still a good price.

Jillpie,
Where are you in MA? I will travel for those prices!! A 1 hour massage is $75 in my neiborhood.

Enjoy!

Sue

That's a great price. I'd pay over $200 for those treatments at the spa I like to go to and the treatment times wouldn't be as long as yours!

If you got those treatments onboard you'd pay $109 for a 50 minute massage, $40 for a manicure, $55 for a pedicure, and a free sit down lunch in Triton's/Lumiere's!

This is right over the line of Whitman, in Brockton (but in a very nice part of Brockton, at the Lamberts Plaza). Its called the Tranquil Escape Day Spa. I just looked at the price list for you and if you just got a one hour massage it is 64.00.

You'd think you've walked into another world in this place. It is really beautiful. I CAN"T WAIT till we do this for the first time! I hope we like it.

Our Local spa is high also - Not NYC high, but still
70 for a 1 hour massage
60 for a "spa pedicure"
35 for a "spa" manicure
the regular pedicure is 40 and reg manicure is 16

but a "day of beauty"
European facial, honey almond back treatment, salt glow manicure and pedicure and lunch is 220, add a massage and its 290.00!!

We're on the 4/16 Eastern, I may have to give myself a pre-cruise spa treat My usual mani/pedi would cost me $50 anyway.

Hey, I'm on that cruise too! There is a great spa less than a mile from my house, but it costs $75 for a one hour massage. The Half Day Sampler is $250. I may be making a little trip over to Brockton, too, before my cruise. :flower:

I'm well-acquainted with spa prices; my wife is a spa-junkie, and I've seen the American Express bills ;) , and I've purchased several packages for her over the years as gifts.

There are places that would charge $125 for the massage only. I think the price is more than reasonable, presuming you are getting the "spa environment" along with the treatments, which I think is very important. I've only had one professional massage in my life (my wife asked if I would go to the spa with her on the morning of our wedding day -- what was I going to say: "no?"), and I was very impressed not only with the treatment itself, which was very relaxing, but with the whole spa experience, which involved soothing lights, sounds, and smells, a vichy-shower before the treatment, and a feeling of being catered to.

My wife says she's had what would have been great massages that have been somewhat spoiled by non-private settings (where people nearby are gabbing on cell-phones while you try to relax), harsh lights, or a generally clinical atmosphere.

So I'd go check out the environs before I signed on, but if the place is comfortable and inviting, I think the price for those treatments is a steal.

Jillpie - Definitely a good price and I hope you and your DH have a blast.

I've had several pedicures and manicures done at a spa and never that took an hour. You are going to be sooooo spoiled ;)

That sounds like a great deal - $125 per person for three services and lunch? Sign me up! :teeth:

The spa that I frequent charges anywhere between $80 - $150 for a massage, depending on the treatment. Heck, the ulimate spa pedicure that I love to get just before going on vacation costs $55 (but it includes a paraffin treatment!!).

Go for it!! And it's defintely more affordable than what you would spend on the ship at the Vista Spa.

Thats a great price. I am with Jenn up in Gene Juarez country, which is a great spa, but a similar package to what you have would be about $100 more.

I always feel lucky if I can find a good massage for $1 a minute. Doesn't happen very often. But I can dream.

Have a great time.

I'm with everyone else~~that's a great price!!! I usually try to squeeze in a spa trip before we cruise or go to WDW but for that package I'd be going once a month, at least!!!

Great price.

I did this too....day before we caught our flight had a body scrub (in lieu of a massage), manicure, pedicure, facial, lunch, brow wax and haircut. Mine was more in the $250 range. But it was great. There is too much to do on the ship than spend the day in the spa, IMHO (and I know people cruise to spa, that is their preogative). Much cheaper than on the ship, too. And I can go to my regular salon.

I always go to the College of Beauty for my pedicure and manicure a couple days before i cruise - it is very cost effective.

I paid $149 for a 50 minute hot rock massage, so I think your full set of treatments sounds like a great deal on nice services. But, would your husband have a manicure/pedicure? I could probably rope my husband in for massage and lunch(though he'd wonder where the meat was) but when it came time for nail care, he'd be out of there so fast the therapist would probably slip on the aroma oils he'd knocked over on the way out the door!
