I know im not the only person caught up in the CCE nightmare but as it looks increasingly likely that our money wont be turning up I am after some ideas.
At present every penny we had saved is with CCE so we nned to work out how much we need to be able save in 7 weeks to even make the trip possible.

Im gutted as this was going to be the first trip where we wasnt counting the pennies but anyway -

As a family of 6 staying offsite ( meals will now be in villa !)
How much do you think we realistically need to function? We have recently extende our holiday to 3 weeks from 2 !

so 3 weeks 6 people someone help out with where to even start ???

My adrs and parking fees will come to $740.00
How much for sundries and I do accept this question is how long is a piece of string !!

eBay eBay eBay! We have sold loads on eBay this year to raise money. We have probably made close to £1500!

Anything from old DVDs, ds games, old toys, clothes it takes a bit of time but is fun and not only clears out clutter it can make you some money.

If you have any kids fancy dress outfits now is the time to sell with Halloween coming up.

After me losing my job and effectively losing s
a months income we are having to budget big time too this trip so I understand your worry - I have never stayed off site so cannot advise on how much you need only give sympathy and some Money making ideas! ((( hugs )))

Do you really want to stick with the ADR's? or are they character meals? One of the 1st things I would do to cut costs myself would be eat offsite, meals are approx double the cost onsite compared to offsite which also means double the tip. Easy for me as I prefer offsite dining but something to consider for cost cutting.

Whats CCE? Crown Currency? Is there a problem with them? I have an order with them!!

we only have a few adrs and they are all character meals for the kids I so dont want to cut them out if I can help it.
I have already made the decision we will eat more in the villa so its just a case of shopping and cooking a bit more than normal.
That has to be the best option for us as even offsite the costs start adding up for 6 of us !

Just come back from the World and we stayed on site but did not have free dining plan. We did a few ADR's but the rest of the time we ate off site. I saved a lot of money by joining websites the month before we went and getting lots of 'buy one get one free' meal coupons. We ate at Sweet Tomatoes twice, Chevys, Dennys, McD's and Pizza Hut. All on coupons. Worked out great, probably cheaper than eating in!!

probably cheaper than eating in!!

Depending where you eat and what coupons you use I have said you can eat out over there almost as cheap as eating in, although I have never tried it to confirm.

Many of them have a page where you can sign up to recieve emails with offers. Sweet Tomatoe is below, I get an email from them every month with BOGOF & other offers. When joining enter your Birthday as a couple of days before you fly, many send Birthday coupons valid for about 2 weeks. If you join about a week before you fly some also send joining coupons.

Sorry to hear about this Louise, I think we ate at CiCis Pizza and it cost us $9 for the 4 of us with a coupon! You can't get better than that and it was all you can eat, cheap and cheerful but the chocolate brownies here are the best I have ever had!

I would cut the ADRs down to one or two, the kids will see lots of characters in the parks and I'm sure that they won't notice the difference, if the worst comes to the worst and the money is gone then I would be cutting costs that way and ebaying as much as I could.

I hope that it gets sorted out and you haven't lost your money

Sorry to here there may be a problem with your money - fingers crossed for you.

I'd second ebay - i've made a bit of extra money for our trip that way.

I read a real budget trip on the dibb a month or two ago which was really impressive. They family had 3 or 4 children and little cash due to dh's overtime being stopped.

They did meals like ravioli on toast some nights, mixed with some cheap eats out. At the end of the day the kids will remember going in the pool at the villa and the parks not what they had for tea.

Louise, if you know where you plan to eat offsite if you are doing restaurants there, Restaurant.com is doing 90% off on their certificates until the end of today. I am registered with them. The code is WOW. This time they are, rather unusually, offering the discount off the larger certificate values too. I know it's not much help, but paying $2 for a $50 certificate (minimum spend of $100 for example will be easy for 6 of you) should go some way to help.

i would 3rd it with ebay, i am hoping to get are honeymoon paid up from there.

i am sorry about CCE, hopefully you get all sorted out.

Another one we used Louise (if it has to come to this, as I'm hoping with all my heart you'll get that money back), is coupons for Denny's.

I got them to my inbox through signing up here...

Thanks guys I am going to look at all the links now Ive got up this morning hoping to find out it was all just a bad dream!!
I need to look into these restaurats so I can find out f they can accomadate Keiras gluten free needs and to be honest I always get a little nervous handing over the food prep to others just incase they make her ill which is why we have always stuck to onsite dining as disney are so fab with her :sad2:

just read youre pre-trip report, i am so sorry.I allway been told when i was growing up these things happen for reason, not to sure what reason.
But thing never run smoothly, it always turns out for the best.

as far as in villa eating is concerned, I'd just think about what you pay for your shopping at home ... you should be able to eat similar meals at broadly similar costs. By being there for three weeks you won't feel that you're buying things that you'll only use a small amount of (i always feel jars of jam or ketchup for example we don't get through in a week so cost us more per use!). Hopefully you'll get things sorted!
