I would just say lots!!!! As much as you can gather together.

We wnet for 3 nights 4 days me and a child who doesnt eat alot but still paid for stuff for her to try, took about £500 in euros and come back with just over 100 euros, although I did get lots of souvenirs

I really think it depends on your spending habits.

Agreed.

The most expensive thing is generally the meals for us, so if you take a look at DLP Food Guide then the menus should give you a rough guide.

I would then add on about 20 / 30 euros per day for extras (ice cream, coffee etc), plus some money for souvenirs.

If you have a daughter, then it's worth bearing in mind that the Princess dresses are quite expensive, but I don't remember how much. Apart from that, typical souvenirs shouldn't end up too expensive, but as Emma said, it really does depend on your spending habits.

Are you staying at a disney hotel?

If so the half board plans are really good value and can help with budgeting etc as you have already paid for your main meals.

We find that the hotel breakfast and one meal does us fine with a little icecream/waffle/mickey pizza snack for lunch or dinner. :)

There have been some great ideas on here before for people on a budget - like buying Princess dresses or cuddly toys on e-bay before going and then producing them when you get there. Some people explain to their children they can have only ONE toy and leave it to the last day to get it. Some people have been so tight for money that they don't buy any souvenirs, but make a scrapbook on their return with park tickets, menus, phots, trip report etc.

Meals can cost from about 50 Euros per adult, plus drinks, plus tips (more expensive table service) through 15 Euros (counter service burger chips and drinks) and then for the very hard-up there is the option of buying sandwiches and drinks from the train station at just a few Euros per person. If you're nearing Auchan hypermarket it could be even cheaper.

As Emma said it depends on your spending habits and budget - whether you have a DLH budget or a Premiere Classe budget. :)

I find it very easy to get carried away so I tend to set a budget for each day allowing a bit extra for souveniers etc. I have another post about 'character photos' and these can be quite costly but they work out cheaper if you buy more than one ... ideal for gifts if you need to think about grandparents, etc. I've never tried the half board option but may consider this for our next trip, from the reports on here it sounds good ! We also vary where we eat, one evening we'll have a treat and then the next night we'll have a budget tea usually a yummy baguette and fries from a deli in the village ... I think a baguette with a variety of fillings, fries and a drink is about 9 euros and they are lovely.

How many of you are going on the trip ? we went in June with extended family who put in politely ended up doing my head in, everytime I looked to buy something I was asked what do you want that for, do you need it, etc, etc but I always like to buy some bits to put away for xmas ... anyhow thanks to their comments I ended up coming home with 200 euros !

I always manage to come home with about 150-200 Euros but thats only because im not a big merchandise person. DD is also happy with a cuddly toy and doesnt want for much plus she has her own spending money.

thanks all

theres only 2 of us going , so am going to allow about 125 euros a day

knowing me , there will be more lol

It does depend on individuals. For us, we are two adults and two little ones (age 5 and 3). We like to eat one nice three course table service with wine a day and then some snacks. We buy expensive type souvenirs (watches, collectables, adult clothes) and some pins.

As a result we budget about £150 per day and come back with change usually. But we are very regular visitors to Disney parks around the globe, so we do not buy that many souvenirs unless it's something really special (about to embark on my 50th trip!!!)

Yep - 300+ trips to DL, 6 trips (or about 70 days) WDW, coming up to 50th trip to DLP. Worked at the Watford Disney store for a while in the Summer Holidays even though my commute cost about the same as I brought home. 6 times to see the Lion King in London, twice for Beauty and the Beast.

My house is decorated like Disneyland (every room has a theme).

My children are named after Disney references.

Dined in every signature restaurant in DL, WDW and DLP. Stayed in every official hotel in DL, DLP and 9 of WDW's.

So I suppose we are hardcore. Plan to retire into a Disney park and become a train engineer.

Oh, and except for work clothes, I have very few non Disney clothes. And even for work, I have 4 Disney watches, 7 cuff links designs, and 22 disney ties, don't know how many socks.

It is my religion (or used to be before about 10 years ago).

Currently we are saving up. For my 40th (in 6.5 years time) I plan to take a sabbatical from work and go to all the Disney parks around the globe in one trip!!!

I don't know what to say:rotfl: Thats like really great, my mouth is actually open right now!!!:rotfl:

It's so nice to be accepted. At work, they think I am a freak. they travel like mad, go to sports engagements etc. I don't, I don't drink much, and I don't smoke. I just do Disney (ok and a little travel elsewhere, but had pleasure of seeing 42 countries by the age of 25).

By the way PoppyOlivia - how is Inverness these days? I used to work for about 3 years with Social Work there and I really miss the place. Need to take my family up some time.

:grouphug: We all accept you - I keep my disney obsession secret and dont tell anyone at work how often I go.......and I hide all my disney books about all the parks as well as I worry people wouldnt accept it :sad1:

People thought i was crazy before but now they think im bonkers. Im so glad i have Kyra otherwise ill still be keeping my Disney obsession under wraps.
