Leaving 8/7/04 for a 10 night trip, 7 nights at CSR and 3 nights at HRH. It will be me, DH, DS17 & DS14. We may eat a few breakfasts in the room but most meals will be ate at counter service rest. and/or we do have some PS's at sit-down rest.

So anyway, how much spend money do you think would be sufficient for our trip? I know you see I have 2 teen boys, but my oldest is not a big eater at all. Kids will have their own spend money as well for whatever they want to buy.

Do you think $2000 would be enough?

I would say yes, but I do go often and don't buy many souveniers. Majority of my money is spent on food. If you haven't already, I would go onto www.allearsnet.com and look at the menus for the places that you plan to eat and get an idea of your food bill. I think a lot will depend on your spending habits in regards to souveniers. But, to answer your question, yes I think that you would be fine.

Are you talking about spending money (T-shirts, Mickey Bars, bike rental, souvenirs, etc) or your food budget (all meals, snacks, drinks, etc.) or Both?

Sorta confused with your question.

I'm sorry... I talking about mainly food, snacks, etc. and maybe a couple of souvenirs, my kids will have their own money for souvenirs. I don't really forsee us/me renting bikes... it'll be too hot!

I would say yes, if you are eating breakfast in your room some days, and bringing some snacks into the parks, and have either water botles or a brita bottle. I know children that old can eat twice what you eat(but it might vary). Good luck. I love the Beirgarten, and an occasional Buffet could help your sons, if they get hungry.

$200 a day will be plenty for the four of you. I plan on $150 a day for fiance and myself, but we drink wine/beer with dinner and often hit PI (alcohol really adds up!!). If you are doing lots of counter service and several meals, I think you will do well.

Look into the hotwire vouchers if you haven't already. If you eldest doesn't eat much, you may can share a meal.

If you are staying at CSR, the Q&C vouchers are a great deal at the Pepper Market. According to your eating habits, 2 people can share a meal for $11.50 including tax and tip. It's also great to give teenagers so that they can feel free to eat whatever and whenever they want. You still have time to join Hotwire and get them in before you leave. We love the Pepper Market and always eat there several times. They have a large selection and we find the food is better than most food courts.

Last time my DH and I went I spent a total of $500 for 8 days, this was for food and $200 in souvineirs. We did a few character breakfasts and Chef Mickeys and Garden Grill, plus a few restaurants not on Disney property. We were never hungry. :)

We just returned from 10 nights in Orlando. We took $1200 in cash plus $350 on my Disney Rewards Card and and $410 in Disney Dollars.

We stayed club level/concierge for most of our stay. That provided us with snacks and breakfast most days. We ate sit-down meals most afternoons and used vouchers for counterservice in the evenings.

I came home with $180 in cash (I started with $600) and $44 left on my Rewards Card. The Disney Dollars were completely spent. I'm not sure how much DH had leftover but it was probably close to the same amount. We used the money for meals, tipping and souvenirs. The biggest budget busters were poolside drinks and tipping the bellhops (we had several pieces of luggage and stayed at 3 hotels).

I think that your $200 per night should be plenty, especially if that number doesn't include souvenirs and you intend to bring breakfast foods with you.

for 10 nights in Sept as well. This would be for food, snacks, souvies, for me, DH, DD1, and DD11. I'll have an additional 150 of Disney Visa rewards. DD1 will eat for free at the character buffets (we're doing 2 breakfasts, lunch, and a dinner). I'll have already purchased some Q&Cs for a few meals, a cert for 50% off Baskervilles, and use brita sports bottles. I'm thinking 1000 for food and 1000. for souveniers, snacks, extras, tips. We'll also have credit cards just in case. DH thinks this is not enough, so I'm having the same concerns as you.
