I am looking for a little help. We are arriving to Disney on a Thursday morning (land around 10:30am) in December. On that same day I am hoping to attend the Christmas Party (around 4pm). I know we will take the Magical Express to the resort (CBR), but then I am looking for a fun idea to spend a few hours while grabbing a bite to eat. It is also important to know that this is a surprise engagement trip (she thinks we are going to Pennsylvania, lol) and I actually plan on proposing to her that Thursday night. So, with that said, any ideas?

I'd say monorail resort hopping, looking at the Christmas decorations. (You can also take a boat from Contemporary or MK to Wilderness lodge). The Grand Floridian should nicely help set the mood :)

Unfortunately, Cali Grill is not a lunch service.

She'll know you're proposing when she sees Orlando is the destination.

I would not pay for the party on arrival day early. Bad idea. You have plane issues or car troubles on the way to the plane you may miss it.

Wait to pay for the party till you are at the resort.

I would do a late lunch at GFC - it's a nice quiet place to talk, food is great, and the GF is a beautiful spot with amazing grounds. You can listen to the pianist there and do some wonderful shopping. Enjoy and congrats!

There are so many restaurants at Disney Springs and maybe even the Balloon ride would be fun. A bus from Disney Springs to The Grand Floridian, followed by a very short monorail ride to the Magic Kingdom will give you plenty of time to get to the Party by 4pm.
