Spend $50 to save $18

I have about $68 in Southwest Credits that have to be used by June 18. To extend the credits I would have to make several long distance calls and do paperwork, along with $50 to extend the credit for a year.

It is really worth the effort to save what would end up being $18? $18 is still money and goes a long way. 4 dole whips, a drink with tip at WDW.

I was also thinking should I just donate them to Make a Wish?

I would either donate or sell them on Craigslist.

I have only had to make 1 phone call and no paperwork to extend credits.

I've been in a similar situation. I let the credits go. And took away the lesson that unless the SW credit would be BIG and I already have a future trip planned, just stop looking and don't make all those changes if the flight price goes down, because I would rather have just paid the little bit of extra money towards my flight than to have that situation happen again.

Can you use them on Early Bird Check-In?

Just called, can't use credits for EB check-in, bummer!

If you are absolutely sure you will use them before the extended expiration date, and the cost to extend + the cost of phone calls is less than the credit, then I'd do it.

If you aren't absolutely sure you will use them, then I wouldn't bother for $18.

I will not be using the credits. I have our trip done for DL in about 60 days and this fall is an international flight. No other trips until March of next year.

I am going to try to donate them to MAW.
