I think someone misspelled a critter's name on a layout. Would you tell them, privately?

I would only tell a close friend, not an aquaintance (sp? ) Too much potential for headache. Although it does surprise me when a person puts so much effort into the layout and can't be bothered to check on the spelling. I see Alladin instead of Aladdin quite frequently.

There is always the chance that it was done intentionally. I have a layout with the title "It's a Small World Happy Now" -- that is the way DD3 sung the song.


That being said, I personally wouldn't care who told me. If my spelling was wrong on a layout, I'd want to know.

I don't know the person. The layout was published online, and could be intentionally misspelled, because the word is written the way most kids would pronounce it...but she spelled it the same way in her comments and didn't mention that is was done that way on purpose.

I'm always surprised when things are spelled wrong in layouts in magazines!!

I know I'm guilty of bad spelling... however, that's just part of who I am. I don't tend to spell check my layouts (other things sure but not so much the layouts ) I don't think I would tell someone unless I knew them or if they had asked for advice on the layout. I just enjoy looking at everyone's work. maggie

LOL That is how I am! I spell something wrong on most of my pages! LOL!
I made a 1 year scrapbook for my niece, had 2 of the months spelled wrong...which I knew i would do so I had it written down and checked off as I cut the letters...needless to say when I put the letters down I never looked.
Funny thing the one I kept looking at it and thought....it just doesn't look right. Would you think I bothered to check it? I thought maybe it was the color! LOL! Luckily others caught it before I gave it! WHEW! I just laughed! and then quickly fixed it!

I think I would definitely say it... but word it delicately, so as not to hurt feelings. I would want to know if I had a misspelling in my journaling. It would be up to me then if I wanted to fix it or leave it... but at least I would know.

It astounds me how often I see misspellings and/or major grammatical errors on published pages. It has become sort of a joke with me to see how many errors I can find in one issue of CK. I know it sounds kind of snobby of me, but I really don't mean it that way. It just seems like these mistakes pop off the page at me! (Maybe I was an editor or proof-reader in another life)..................P

If it were one of my close friends on here, I'd say something privately to them.. I would want them to tell me; but if it is someone I barely know, I would not say anything. Unfortunately we don't know how they would take it. Probably a bad way to look at it, I know... but that is how I feel...

I know my spelling sticks and I'm sure I have a lot of errors in my journaling. I can live with that, but if it was a title on the LO I would want to know so I could fix it. So if it was one of mine let me have it!
