Spectrum Moms Take on The World! Our Last Day...Multiple Posts!

Hi! I've been reading along, just not commenting. Boo on me!It really sounds like it's been a magical second day! You've really found some amazing PP photographers to capture all the fun that I am sure was happening. I love those Dole Whips! I was actually with Tracy when she had her first dole whip, so I think that was her first float.

Kathy, the article Nathan was awesome. Your writing style totally draws people in. Julie, I was thoroughly impressed at how well Nathan expressed himself - both his thoughts and feelings at Disney. You must be so proud!

On that ticker -- Jersey week?!!? No mom only trip and no Mommy/Billy trip but the whole family for Jersey Week? Spectacular! I think we are just going to miss each other though. Boo!

Hi Margaret! Glad to see you again :teeth: Yes, that was my first float which was pretty good but my first yummy delicious Dole Whip was with you at the Poly in November. :cloud9: When are you going this year?

I'd shopped earlier for souvies for the kids but this time it was all about me. I picked up a Mickey Head necklace and two different bracelets.... I'll post a picture too.... oh and I also had enough for the tote bag, a really nice blue and green one.

I think we all lost one another at different points of our browsing. I still don't know where Kathy ended up just before we left MK :rotfl2: .... we'd broken off into two's and three's leaving the park -- I'd thought she was looking for tea -- and I don't think I saw her again until the bus back to Kidani!

MMM.....I love me the Dole Whip! :thumbsup2

:thumbsup2 Missy, I'm definitely a convert!

...Kathy was the last one to be found...but we all made our way from MK w/ some goodies :thumbsup2

 Guess I got a little carried away with my browsing... not used to the freedom!!

Hi, Margaret! I'm glad you enjoyed the article. Yes, I was beginning to get a little sad thinking about going to Disney without my girl, so I took some excellent advice from Heidi and booked Jersey Week. The kids actually have school Mon and Wed that week... Billy can miss, but Tricia doesn't want to get behind. I'll head down with Billy and Ed and Tricia will join us Wed night.

It seems to be the best of both worlds!

I am sorry that we will miss each other. :sad2: Thanks for reading!

Great photopass pics with the Dole Whips.:thumbsup2

Sounds like you did some great shopping. That is one of my favorite things is just looking around at all the items in the shops.:cloud9:

Tell me about it! I wasn't even aware that I was keeping the others waiting...:rolleyes1

Well, technically it was a first, since it was your first FLOAT!

Oh, you reminded me about the tea! Yes, Tracy is right, I was looking for teabags because I had neglected to bring some from home. I found some that came in a gorgeous Alice in Wonderland tin. Honestly, I could've probably bought good old Lipton at Kohari Treasures back at Kidani but I just fell in love with that pretty little tin!

I'm glad I was missed. In my list of internet stops, the DISboards always seems to be last and I kept thinking, if I log in I will lose my spot on the DIS so I'll just read as a guest. How's that for weird logic?!

I am going to Disney from Oct. 26-29 with a very good friend. Just the two of us! It will be a quick trip, but I am so looking forward to having a little me time (in addition to being gone long enough to truly miss the kids). Based on the tickers it looks like I'll be sandwiched between you and Kathy!

I am so glad to hear that you figured out a way to get the family there that worked for everyone Kathy. I know the thought of the holiday holiday trip and waiting until next June for a family trip were hard on you.

All caught up! How lovely that you did some "firsts" together with the Dole whips.

I love that the PP were interested in the back of your shirts. :lmao: It is a great memory even if it is not your "best" sides. ;)

Ain't that the truth! (Speaking only for myself, of course!)

After our wonderful time shopping we headed back to Kidani for a break. I believe we had some discussions, everyone had time to freshen up, and it was also time to pick our fate for the Sip 'N Snack game.

Heidi had come up with a fun game for us to play while at Epcot and we were about to find out what country and what food word we were going to be on a mission to find. Here are the Guidelines Heidi came up with for our little game:

1. Each player picks one Country and one Item tag. If you pull the "swap" tag you may take any other player's item tag, or choose a new item tag from the bag. If you take another player's item tag they will choose a new item tag from the bag for themselves.
2. Your "Edible" must be purchased at a counter service location, kiosk, or gift shop in the country of your Country tag.
3. Your "Edible" can be food or beverage (alcoholic or non-alcoholic). It can be part of a combo meal at a CS.
4. Your "Edible" can NOT be a common theme park food/beverage. No bottled water, no regular sodas, no fries, no popcorn, no whole fruit, etc.
5. Your "Edible" needs to represent your Country as a unique edible item only found in your WS country.
6. Each player should make a reasonable attempt at eating most of what they selected.

Some of us where a little nervous about this game, myself included, but I think we all ended up with something we felt comfortable with and we were all excited to challenge ourselves to try something new.

We went around the room making our first selection, and hid our choice until we each had a mickey head in our possession

Next we went around revealing our countries and Amy was looking a little nervous

Next we went back around to pick our food associated word and it looks like we revealed those as we chose them:

Amy looked like she was ok with her mix of choices, how did the rest of us do?

Everyone seemed pleased now with their choices and this is what we each ended up with:
Kathy: Country- China and Item- White

Heidi: Country- Germany and Item- Berries

We agreed we would post the pictures of what we ended up eating as we make our way around World Showcase so I’ll leave our choices as a surprise.

And now a game for our wonderful readers:
Take a guess at what each of us got to eat and I’ll tally the scores for correct guesses at the end and the winner will get a small Disney related prize from me.:thumbsup2 Good Luck

Looks like more fun times were had the rest of the morning at MK! Pics with Pirate Goofy were great and :yay: for dole whips - I have yet to try one but Jean (who is "reading" with me this afternon) and I have agreed to get it on the must do list for November!

The Epcot food game looks fun, can't wait to see what you all chose.

"Nervous" is an understatement! Poor Amy was visibly shaking as she made her picks! :worried: I was worried about Julie... see how she's got her foot elevated on the table? Epcot is not the best place to be if you've got a sore ankle!

And that's not all... it was beginning to rain again; and hard! :umbrella:

I was soooo nervous about the sip & snack game. I really wanted to give it my best shot so I was afraid of getting something gross. My sour Japan worked out OK. ;)

Julie, I was thoroughly impressed at how well Nathan expressed himself - both his thoughts and feelings at Disney. You must be so proud!

thank you so much...yes it was a great "excersize" for him to share his thoughts so confidently too :thumbsup2 I am proud of him :goodvibes after posting a link on my FB profile too and sending to some of the proffessionals and teachers Nathan has/works w/ it really has taken on a whole new outlet of awarenss and encouragement for him and I....

Interlude on the Savanna...

Still Friday, Day Two

Kidani Village

After receiving our Sip 'n Snack "assignments" for World Showcase, we got ourselves all neat and pretty and were soon heading out the door... ahead of schedule! Yes, you read that correctly. Seven women got themselves ready to go out for the evening and were ahead of schedule!! :goodvibes

We were on our way through the lobby when we spotted a number of animals out grazing on the savanna. Having the luxury of time, we decided to stop for a few moments and enjoy the view from the animal overlook.

How nice it was not to have to rush about!

Sitting in those over-sized rocking chairs, just relaxing and taking in the atmosphere of Kidani Village was such a treat. However, we had a variety of edible treats awaiting us at Epcot, so we gathered up our things and drifted outside past...
