Spectrum Moms Take on The World! Our Last Day...Multiple Posts!

You know I have that same app! :rotfl: I was planning to post a screen shot of it as soon as all four of our days fell within range! :thumbsup2

it's pretty good

Julie ~ I posted on FB but I'd love one of the journals, either cover is great - surprise me! Love all your crafty stuff, wish I could do that!

Yes all printed...work on triming while waiting on Bekah and her cello lesson today

Kathy ~ did you get a chance for a 10day celebration? I know you're not sharing the trip with Billy so that might have been tough.

was wondering same thing too :confused3

My DH contributes to the mess just as much as the kids! :headache:

:rotfl: mine too...not terrible...he'll do a great job getting the house back in order for me when I return, may not be "perfect" but good enough :goodvibes

Is it bad that we put a whole master suite addition onto our home so I could get away from the rest of the house??? :rotfl2: I can't wait for it to be done. Soon, very soon!!

@ Amy -- I'm bringing my Wrinkle release spray, you're welcome to use it.

Let's play that game where you write what you'll be doing a week from now. I'll start today because a leave a day sooner for Disney then the rest of the ladies.

Tuesday next week I will be running around with my head cut off. Because Monday is a holiday, Liam won't have school so I can't run errands that day and it all falls to Tuesday. I'll be going grocery shopping (my normal day is Thursday), finishing any of the kids' laundry, vacuuming and cleaning up the house, baking brownies for DH and packing up 3 different backpacks that DH will need over the course of the next 5 days. (1 for Danica to take to therapy (the waiting room) and Nana's house. 1 for Liam for school. and 1 for swim lessons) Plus that evening I'll pack anything else for myself that I hadn't done yet but I hope to be done packing Sunday night....(oh geez I JUST realized that Sunday is THIS SUNDAY!!!)

Sounds like you've got everything all planned out. I know right Sunday is this Sunday :scared1: I feel like we waited forever and now it's here and I'm not ready, but can't wait. :)

Fun, fun, fun!!!

No school next Monday so that'll set me behind a day too! I'm hoping to get some work done from home between feeding the boys & breaking up fights!

Next Tuesday I'll be getting my hair cut & colored at 9am, serving lunch at school from 11:45 - 12:45 then running off to my wax lady at 1:15.

I'll spend the evening at a school concert. This will be Alex's first time playing his trumpet in a concert!

Wow, aside from lunch duty at school, sounds like a fun Tuesday :) Good luck to Alex :goodvibes

My three kids are in three different schools - Ariana and Demetri have the Monday off but Alex doesn't. He hates that!

My calendar for Tuesday is surprisingly clear.... for now. I'm sure I'll have last minute trip items to pick up that I've forgotten right now and I know I'll be packing for sure, but I have no school events, no hockey - nice! Work on the other hand..... :headache: It wouldn't surprise me if I have to bring something home from work to finish up before I leave.

Otherwise I'll probably be doing laundry and getting the house tidied up. I'm the one in the household who constantly moves from room to room putting things away and straightening up. No telling what I'm in for when I get back after four days!

Oh what a blissful Tuesday with no "actual" plans.

I know I have been paying more attention to what the big weather map says for you guys on the EAST coast...it makes me nervous.

Ok so this is what I see via the Weather channel app on my phone:

Ok first off there was a fire weather warning for this week

and the long range says:

Wed 19th cloudy/rain 74/45 60% rain

Thurs 20th no clouds/sun 69/47 10% rain

that's as far as I can go 10 days out....

icky, I don't like that 60% chance of rain

like no drinking and driving ;) I'm w/ you, in I can't be that cold we are Northerners...we should be tough, right?

Ok next Tues NO SCHOOL again for my 4...Mon off too. I plan to sleep in till 8 am :cool1: finish up laundry, put out school clothes for rest of week and for Mon the following week AND church clothes for Sun. Try to find some time (if it didn't happen Mon) to play a game, do something w/ the kids :goodvibes

the afternoon includes taking Nathan to the ped dentist to have two teeth removed (for pre-ortho) and Tues night I have my long awaited hair appt!

***My goal is to have baiscally all trip related stuff done for myself (minus last min packing) before the kids come home from school Friday....

You are so smart to think ahead like that, I also was thinking about the Monday after we return and became very anxious to the thought of what I'll need to get done Sunday when I come back. I'm also hoping to have all my personal trip related things done by this Sunday.

good luck Alex!!!

Oh really and I thought that was just me

OK, I'll play along. This time next week.......

No school for my kids Monday either but I do have work 9a-1p and have to drop my car off at the body shop and get the rental all before 9am. Should be interesting. Tuesday is my crazy day, work 9a-1p and 5p-9p. In between I'll eat lunch, pick up from school, fix something for dinner and drop Mairead at tennis on my way back to work. I'm not usually up for much by the time I make it home at 9:15ish.

I'm REALLY hoping to get as much done as possible between tomorrow and Sunday. I have had one thing added to my list, DD13 took the entrance exam to a Catholic high school this past Saturday and there is a Parent Statement that must be there by Jan 19. Eeek!

Tracy & Julie ~ add me to the list of those that seem to be the only ones to see the mess/clutter. I swear I think they follow behind me sometimes messing things up on purpose.

Kathy ~ did you get a chance for a 10day celebration? I know you're not sharing the trip with Billy so that might have been tough.

I hope all of you that are getting hit with snow are keeping warm inside. Luckly Chicago doesn't seem to be in the pattern this time around, we're getting snow but not much.

Off to school pick-up!

That is a busy work schedule, but I saw the pay off so I'd be all for that too. Some weeks I work 6 days because I'll go in for a few hours each day sometimes.

You all are going to laugh at me, because it doesn't bother me to have my kids toys all over, as long as they aren't on my bed or around my bed.:cutie:

Ok so as it stands right now, this time next week I'll do the usual grocery shopping (Tuesdays are usually my main day off). My kids will also be off Monday, but so will DH since he is a teacher. So Monday I'll be able to get a lot of personal errands done if I'm not working, which I might be since we had two snow days this week.

Back to Tuesday: I have my first class in a series of classes I'm taking through my church. Followed by a tour and intake for the boys and us to be a part of a parenting training for children with behavior issues. Jack is doing great at school, but we still have A LOT of battles and meltdowns at home, so I'm really hoping this works. Followed by picking Jack up from school and preparing Jacks special treats for a birthday party in his class on Thursday, and extra to get him through the weekend since I won't be here. Will probably also pack some lunches for Jack and lay out his clothes for Thursday and Friday. I'm not too concerned about the weekend because I'm pretty sure they'll just stay home and watch tv and play with toys (and my grocery shopping on Tuesdays usually includes a trip to Whole Foods to stock up on Jacks food).

Thanks Julie!! Can't wait!!

finishing up right now

Is it bad that we put a whole master suite addition onto our home so I could get away from the rest of the house??? :rotfl2: I can't wait for it to be done. Soon, very soon!!

that's why my scrapbook room is in the basement;)

(and my grocery shopping on Tuesdays usually includes a trip to Whole Foods to stock up on Jacks food).

I do that once a month too and then cringe at the cost

I finished up everyone's tags :goodvibes gave everyone a different ribbon too. I am very happy w/ our custom tags...hope you will be too!

FYI Jess I am so sorry I did your's first and underestimated the length of ribbon...it may be a bit short to tie on your bag...but I have a spare string to tie through if it won't tie on secure.

Julie - The name tags came out great!!! :thumbsup2

I redid my shirt yesterday... Can you tell which one is the old & which is the new?

I know they don't look very different in the pictures, but the #2 & Minnie's ears are faded and the edges are peeling up. I feel better having a nice new one. :goodvibes

As I sit here watching the snow come down (we are expecting 10-16 inches), I'm happy to say:

How's the weather? It's chilly in Orlando today & tomorrow, highs in the low 50s & lows in the 30s!

Thursday 1/20: Mostly sunny, high 72, low 51 :sunny:
Friday 1/21: Some sun, high 71, low 57 :sunny:
Saturday 1/22: Colder with rain, high 62, low 45 :umbrella:
Sunday 1/23: Rain, high 62, low53 :umbrella:

I think I like the first two days better!

You ladies must be getting so excited! :yay: :yay:

I love the tags and door decorations Julie! Nice job as always! :thumbsup2

We are...:woohoo: and thanks Missy! I had a ton of fun making the things for this trip

To continue Heidi's game....

This time next week: Wed (1-19)- my kids are back to school. After getting everyone organized and off, it will be my last free time to get final stuff organized for myself, clean through the house and make sure everything is set! :thumbsup2 NR arrives home just after 12 pm and I'll spend a little quality time w/ her before she naps. Everyone else will be hm between 3:30 and 4:15. B and R go to church clubs tonight so I will say my good-byes to them before they head off around 6:30 pm. Spend a little time w/ Nathan after dinner (maybe a Clue game, his favorite) and then get ready to head out toward Anne Marie say 8 ish :confused3 get a pre trip pedi w/ her...so I hope that weather turns around ;) and then to my parents to spend the night. Of course say good-bye and give my hubby a kiss and lots of thanks too before leaving

Julie

Very excited Missy!!! :banana::banana:

Julie - Your plans for next week sound busy but fun! I'm glad you are sneaking in a pre-trip pedi with Anne Marie! I'll be painting my own toes when I get a chance!

Next Wednesday will be a busy day for me! I have to change the letters on the school sign first thing, go to the grocery store and finish up some last minute bookkeeping for two different clients. Hopefully my packing will be finished because when I get home I need to finish up organizing the kids clothes and other stuff for home. Zach has an art class after school on Wednesdays so I'll spend a little time with Alex & help him get his homework finished. Hopefully we'll be able to have a nice dinner Wednesday evening... but that may be dreaming... Hopefully nothing else comes up last minute!

... they give me a chance to catch up!

Okay, I'm w-a-y behind so let me start with my ten-day countdown celebration. It was a celebration for one because I had to wait for the kids (Billy, really) to leave for school before I could have my breakfast of...

::MickeyMo Mickey Pancakes!

I know from experience that I will need to wait until the day before I leave to discuss my "research trip" :rolleyes1 with him. (Otherwise he will obsess about it.) Definitely will not be telling him I'm going to WDW... just that I will be coming back on Sunday.

All this talk about snow and cancelled flights has made me a bit more cautious about planning my carry-on items. Usually I don't pack toiletries in my carry-on because I just don't want to deal with TSA, but this time I'll be ready with a change of undies and my travel-size-approved personal care items just in case I get stranded. Murphy's Law, and all... if I'm ready, it won't happen, right?!

Scrappie, you are so creative... I love all your projects! I wonder if anyone from the DIS will recognize us from our tags? :thumbsup2

Just reading about everyone's busy, busy lives makes me realize how very much we all need and deserve this little break!!

Now, for MRYPPNS' game! This time next week (Wed) I'll be... working. (Blech!) But, only for half a day. (Yay!) Then I'll be indulging in a lovely mani/pedi while the kids are still in school.

It will be The Night Before Disney so there will be the usual running around tidying up the house and making sure everything is in order before I leave. Maybe I'll make and freeze a lasagna or some chili for Ed to have on hand... but if I know him, he'll be just as comfortable ordering pizza or taking the kids out to eat, especially on the weekend.

Of course, I'll be doing my best to get to bed early since I'll be up early and off to the airport by 5:30. No worries... I am never too excited to sleep! I know I'll be nice and tired by then! Ed's working that night, so I'll probably fall asleep while snuggling my Billy.

Well, I'm off to do my shirt... wish me luck!

Kathy

Great 10 day celebration treat! :thumbsup2

I know what you mean about the weather & cancelled flights... I saw that the same flight I'll be taking next week was cancelled today. I'll definitely be packing a few extra essentials in my carry on.

I hope it goes OK with Billy! :goodvibes

Can't wait to see how your shirt turns out. popcorn::

Well the crazy pre-Disney dreams have already started......

Here's a summary of last night's:

Heather and I arrived at the room first. (Don't know who Heather is? "Heather" is the All State claims person that I spoke to yesterday on the phone [in real life] to finish up the claim from that fender bender I was in). So Heather and I are in our hotel room....think big dorm room....and I begin to unpack. Page after page after page of touring plans :confused3 Then we notice that the room hasn't been cleaned yet because the bunk beds aren't made. :thumbsup2 Then Heather starts telling me that she has to go get the rental car because they messed up the paperwork at the airport and all I can think of is NO! we have to get going and meet up with the other ladies, we need to stay on schedule! Then she says that she might have to get 2 smaller cars instead of one big one. And I tell her that Julie won't drive one and neither will Amy and I'm not going to because I want to be able to have a cocktail in the parks if I want. Then I remember that I have to call Julie to let her know I'm here but my phone is all funky with all these Disney apps and I can't find her number. Heather and I leave the room to meet up with everyone. I see Julie for the first time and she's 4 1/2 feet tall which I wasn't expecting that so the first thing I say to her is "You're so tiny!" Next I go to say hi to Amy but it's not Amy - just someone with the same hair cut. Then we all walked thru a gift shop on our way to Animal Kingdom. At AK it got really crazy with us walking thru a safari and going the wrong way and CM's yelling at me and Amy to get back or the lion will get us. :scared1:

Yea, I know. I'm nuts.

Bwahahahaha!! :lmao: :lmao: That is hilarious!

I have to wait until I'm home to see Julie's tags, Amy's shirt and Kathy's celebration but I just had to laugh at your dream! :rotfl:

So is me (or someone with my haircut) being eaten by a lion symbolic of something? :rotfl::rotfl2::lmao:

By the time we got to AK it was you. I didn't even mention the part where you and I were trying to avoid getting tasered by those chains that they have on the roads on the safari. These ones were electrified! :rotfl2:

This time next week.....

...we won't have had a blizzard like today!

I should have a pretty normal morning getting myself and the kids ready for the day. I'll pack the last of my carry-on stuff (make-up and the like). The plan is to leave the house by 930am for my 1145 flight to Orlando. But I won't be surprised if DH makes us leave the house by 9am.....he ALWAYS likes to be early. My flight is schedule to land at 315pm, I'll take ME to POP and check-in.

Speaking of checking in.... I can do that now online, maybe I'll do it tomorrow!

My room should be ready since it will be 4pm by then. A quick stop in the room to freshen up and organize a park bag and I'll be off to Animal Kingdom for EMH!! I am so excited about being at AK at night, a first for me! I'm looking forward to riding EE in the dark and just walking around the park at night. I won't decide about dinner until I'm there. I might just get a snack and eat dinner back at POP as to not waste park time eating CS there. The park closes at 8pm so I'll slowly make my way out and back to POP. I plan to make it an early night and not go out to DTD.

No - there will be no blizzard next week!!! I have some pictures to share later...

Your next Wedneday sounds fantastic!! I really wanted to be at AK at night on our February arrival day, but when Alex decided he HAD to go to Chef Mickey's I had to shorten our AK time! Oh well...

Well the crazy pre-Disney dreams have already started...

Yea, I know. I'm nuts.

 Two questions...

1) Whatever did you eat just before bed, and

2) Is Heather a Spectrum Mom??

Heidi, you will have to update on FB with pix of your first night so we can get even more excited!
