Well, great minds think alike --- our family made Mickey head cupcakes too!

When I came home from work, I got the kids started on making the cupcakes while I got dinner ready. I took this first picture, then handed the camera over to Demetri. He's been on a photo taking kick lately.

:rainbow: 10 Days!!!! :rainbow:

Great cake! :woohoo: Looks delicious and I agree, great job for something impromptu!

100_3131.jpg

When I took this picture, Zach said, "Am I going to be in the book?" ;)

100_3133.jpg

Zach loves Breyer's Vanilla Bean & Alex is a chocolate boy! Actually after brushing his teeth tonight, I told him we had to get the Mickey Mouse off his face & he replied, "He's not even in this state!" and I said, "Well what's that on your face?" He giggled and said, "Mickey Mouse!" :goodvibes

Too funny! Yummy looking treats!!

Good to hear the boys are OK with your trip. :cloud9:

10 DAYS!! I can hardly believe it!! I cannot tell you the complete uphoria that came over me today as I was walking into work in the freezing cold when I realized we're going to Disney NEXT week!! :goodvibes

I agree...I knew it was 10 days...but then when I was talking to this sweet girl at lunch duty today...she says "so next week" and oh yeah it IS next week...WOW :cool1:

Well, our celebration was somewhat thrown together. I didn't have as much time this afternoon as I would have liked so my Mickey cake is, let's say, unique. ;) as you can see

DD9 actually helped a lot and it was her idea to use cupcakes for the ears.

LOVE the cake Ann Marie...too good! and taco night huh? we had that on Saturday :)

They both seemed totally OK about it! :thumbsup2 Of course, the location didn't come up! :rolleyes1 Luckily they didn't ask because it would have been hard to lie to them. Zach knows the book is about Disney so he might be assuming that's where I'm going. :confused3

:cool1:  :dance3: YAY! Amy I am so happy and relieved for you

So how did we celebrate? After the boys had dinner (Tim & I ate later) I made them each a special ice cream treat:

I admit I had one cupcake fresh out of the oven :rolleyes1

10 days till we are back at Disney :woohoo:

Very cute, those are great!!! I'm going to keep them in mind for Jacks birthday cupcakes we send to school in March.

Comments in a few minutes but I wanted to share what I came up with today for our 10 day celebration.

So how did we celebrate? After the boys had dinner (Tim & I ate later) I made them each a special ice cream treat:

Jack loved those pictures, and asked who they were and when I told him he said "oh like Zach and Cody." :rotfl2: I think we've been watching too much tv this winter

While my kids know about the trip they are getting jealous but were good sports today for the 10 day party. Here they are waiting for dinner (broke out all the Disney dishes and glasses):

I'll be back in a bit to comment on all the other activities of they day. DD13 is impatiently waiting for my laptop to work on her science fair project.

I had to double post cause it didn't take this into my multi-quote for some reason.

Anyhow, I think your cake looks GREAT!!! Love the sprinkly 10 :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I really can't believe tomorrow starts single digits ladies:dance3:

Great treats ladies! I didn't do anything special here. I sort of promised myself that I wouldn't have any sugary treats until I leave for vacation but I did have some popcorn out of a Disney popcorn bucket!

Thursday 1/20: Mostly sunny, high 68, low 54
Friday 1/21: Mostly cloudy & warmer, high 78, low 59
Saturday 1/22: Becoming cloudy, high 77, low 39 (brr...)

I like the sounds of 78! :thumbsup2

We're preparing for 8-14 inches of snow tomorrow. I'm sure we'll be having a snow day.

Love that app picture.... one of my very favorites!

Ugh that Sunday temp keeps dropping but the other highs look great! :thumbsup2

Don't worry... it will be completely different by this time next week! :rotfl:

I'm just glad the ice storm that was in the forecast for next Wednesday/Thursday morning here in NH is gone!

Funny my friend. Funny.

The Saturday forecast doesn't make any sense. It shouldn't get that cold at night if it was really warm in the day and then clouds. Clouds act like a blanket to keep the warm temps. :confused3

I made this decision yesterday as I was standing out in the 20 degree temps in just my sweatshirt and hat (with jeans of course!): If it's too cold with my sweatshirt, fleece vest and hat/gloves on in the parks then I'm going to a lounge. A lounge where cocktails are served or a lounge to read a book. But not both.....I don't drink and read!

Maybe a cold front is rolling in?? :confused3

I agree... any temp higher than here will be good! And if it's too cold, I'm sure we can find something to do!

I was just standing outside the elementary school changing the letters on the school sign... I thought my fingers were going to fall off! I bet that won't happen at Disney!

Let's play that game where you write what you'll be doing a week from now. I'll start today because a leave a day sooner for Disney then the rest of the ladies.

Tuesday next week I will be running around with my head cut off. Because Monday is a holiday, Liam won't have school so I can't run errands that day and it all falls to Tuesday. I'll be going grocery shopping (my normal day is Thursday), finishing any of the kids' laundry, vacuuming and cleaning up the house, baking brownies for DH and packing up 3 different backpacks that DH will need over the course of the next 5 days. (1 for Danica to take to therapy (the waiting room) and Nana's house. 1 for Liam for school. and 1 for swim lessons) Plus that evening I'll pack anything else for myself that I hadn't done yet but I hope to be done packing Sunday night....(oh geez I JUST realized that Sunday is THIS SUNDAY!!!)

Fun, fun, fun!!!

No school next Monday so that'll set me behind a day too! I'm hoping to get some work done from home between feeding the boys & breaking up fights!

Next Tuesday I'll be getting my hair cut & colored at 9am, serving lunch at school from 11:45 - 12:45 then running off to my wax lady at 1:15.

I'll spend the evening at a school concert. This will be Alex's first time playing his trumpet in a concert!

My three kids are in three different schools - Ariana and Demetri have the Monday off but Alex doesn't. He hates that!

My calendar for Tuesday is surprisingly clear.... for now. I'm sure I'll have last minute trip items to pick up that I've forgotten right now and I know I'll be packing for sure, but I have no school events, no hockey - nice! Work on the other hand..... :headache: It wouldn't surprise me if I have to bring something home from work to finish up before I leave.

Otherwise I'll probably be doing laundry and getting the house tidied up. I'm the one in the household who constantly moves from room to room putting things away and straightening up. No telling what I'm in for when I get back after four days!

OK was thinking the same thing...:rotfl: I love a good bowl of popcorn...I put ranch seasoning on mine

We're preparing for 8-14 inches of snow tomorrow. I'm sure we'll be having a snow day.

I know I have been paying more attention to what the big weather map says for you guys on the EAST coast...it makes me nervous.

Ok so this is what I see via the Weather channel app on my phone:

Ok first off there was a fire weather warning for this week

and the long range says:

Wed 19th cloudy/rain 74/45 60% rain

Thurs 20th no clouds/sun 69/47 10% rain

that's as far as I can go 10 days out....

If it's too cold with my sweatshirt, fleece vest and hat/gloves on in the parks then I'm going to a lounge. A lounge where cocktails are served or a lounge to read a book. But not both.....I don't drink and read!

like no drinking and driving ;) I'm w/ you, in I can't be that cold we are Northerners...we should be tough, right?

Let's play that game where you write what you'll be doing a week from now. I'll start today because a leave a day sooner for Disney then the rest of the ladies.

Ok next Tues NO SCHOOL again for my 4...Mon off too. I plan to sleep in till 8 am :cool1: finish up laundry, put out school clothes for rest of week and for Mon the following week AND church clothes for Sun. Try to find some time (if it didn't happen Mon) to play a game, do something w/ the kids :goodvibes

the afternoon includes taking Nathan to the ped dentist to have two teeth removed (for pre-ortho) and Tues night I have my long awaited hair appt!

***My goal is to have baiscally all trip related stuff done for myself (minus last min packing) before the kids come home from school Friday....

I'll spend the evening at a school concert. This will be Alex's first time playing his trumpet in a concert!

good luck Alex!!!

Otherwise I'll probably be doing laundry and getting the house tidied up. I'm the one in the household who constantly moves from room to room putting things away and straightening up. No telling what I'm in for when I get back after four days!

Oh really and I thought that was just me

You know I have that same app! :rotfl: I was planning to post a screen shot of it as soon as all four of our days fell within range! :thumbsup2

OK, I'll play along. This time next week.......

No school for my kids Monday either but I do have work 9a-1p and have to drop my car off at the body shop and get the rental all before 9am. Should be interesting. Tuesday is my crazy day, work 9a-1p and 5p-9p. In between I'll eat lunch, pick up from school, fix something for dinner and drop Mairead at tennis on my way back to work. I'm not usually up for much by the time I make it home at 9:15ish.

I'm REALLY hoping to get as much done as possible between tomorrow and Sunday. I have had one thing added to my list, DD13 took the entrance exam to a Catholic high school this past Saturday and there is a Parent Statement that must be there by Jan 19. Eeek!

Julie ~ I posted on FB but I'd love one of the journals, either cover is great - surprise me! Love all your crafty stuff, wish I could do that!

Amy ~ best of luck to Alex, DD9 started trumpet this year but her first concert isn't until spring.

Tracy & Julie ~ add me to the list of those that seem to be the only ones to see the mess/clutter. I swear I think they follow behind me sometimes messing things up on purpose.

Kathy ~ did you get a chance for a 10day celebration? I know you're not sharing the trip with Billy so that might have been tough.

I hope all of you that are getting hit with snow are keeping warm inside. Luckly Chicago doesn't seem to be in the pattern this time around, we're getting snow but not much.

Off to school pick-up!

Anne Marie - you're a busy lady!! That's a tough work schedule!

Good luck with the school application!

I'm hoping to get most of my packing finished up before the end of the weekend... I ironed a few things today, even though they'll get wrinkled in the suitcase.

And you can add me to the list of moms who run from room to room cleaning up after the tornado of mess! My DH contributes to the mess just as much as the kids! :headache:
