Please send prayers and pixiedust for my niece, Catie. She is in the OR as we speak. Her surgery should last about six hours... I will post tonight with an update. Thank you from the bottom of my heart....

Woo Hoo my airfare with SWA dropped for our Jan trip!! It's only $29 but I guess it's better than nothing. ;) Just wish they'd give you an actual refund instead of just credit for future travel with strings attached.

Non-Jan trip related: got all our ADRs for our June trip!! :goodvibes Staying AKV-CL so the IPO made them for me. We're doing Ohana dinner, Crystal Palace breakfast, Biergarten lunch and LeCellier dinner to celebrate Mairead's graduation. Also booked Boma breakfast, 50PTC lunch and LTT dinner but might drop those since I don't think we're doing the DDP.

Now that I've got that finished I can focus again on January. :thumbsup2

Thanks for all the prayers and kind wishes... :grouphug: It was a rough day for our family. Catie is doing well post-op, but is in a lot of pain and is on a morphine drip. DSis is spending the night with her at the hospital and I'll talk more with her tomorrow.

Kathy I am glad that Catie is out of surgery well...I have thought of her often and sendings hugs, pixiedust and prayers her recovery is speedy !

  pixiedust: pixiedust: :littleangel: :littleangel:

First, Catie: Still in a lot of pain as is expected, but holding her own in surgical ICU. Not sure when she will be transferred to the floor...

Thanks for all the :littleangel: and pixiedust:

Trip: I'm gathering all the info to make our DME arrangements. I'm sure the luggage tags will go to our individual addresses, but will there be only one booklet?? :confused3 I've never traveled in a group like this before. I'm sure they'll tell me when I call...

Anybody have any experience with this?

Kathy

Prayers and good thoughts for Catie. :goodvibes

my to do list:
1. buy a tiara
2. get a long sleeve white shirt and iron on design
3. packing list
4. finish my travel book (itinerary, budget, travel info)
4. Make arrangments for my kids while gone (menu, meds/vitamins/care/transportation)
5. figure out whether I'm doing separate tickets for my two trips or getting an AP
6. buy the tickets
7. any shopping needed (waiting until after Christmas as I suspect I might be getting some fun things for the trip for Christmas).:rolleyes1

@ Kathy: I emailed you my travel info now that I'm back on my computer :)

Today is 40 days!! Woo Hoo!!:cool1::banana:

Kathy sending more prayers and PD for Catie, glad the surgery went well and hoping the pain won't last too long. :wizard::littleangel:

As for my "to do" list, I wasn't going to make one since it's a solo trip and doesn't require as much planning but I'm having a hard time resisting so here goes:

1. find tiara (there's one somewhere in this house ;)
2. purchase white tee and iron on design
3. tweak packing list (eliminate kids stuff and add cold weather things)
4. purchase AP (hoping this might be under the tree for me though)
5. prepare at-home itinerary/schedule and meals for DH
6. finalize Garden Grocer order w/Kathy
7. put together binder (travel info, touring info, etc)
8. shopping (will have to be after Christmas though)

Hmmm, think that's all for now.

So glad to hear Catie's surgery went well!! Continued pixiedust: for a speedy recovery!!

Yay for DME arrangements!!! I don't have any experience with the DME issue, but I'm sure they have dealt with groups meeting up at Disney before. :goodvibes

So glad everything with Catie went well! Prayers for a perfect recovery are going up right now!

As for the 1 booklet thing....our last trip had Joe arriving on a different flight from myself and Henry and we only had 1 booklet (obviously since we were in the same house), I just ripped his tag out of the book for his boarding. Even if he didn't have it, I know they can look up ressies in the computer too because I have completely forgotten mine in the past!

So, from our experience, if they only send 1 booklet, everyone else will either have to be mailed their little stub, or go to the desk and it will take a little longer.

Hey everyone! We're back and I'm catching up.......

Got new hat and gloves too bought before we left 2 weeks ago plus speaking of Disney Jammies I was "jealous" of Tracy's so I bought some awesome Disney Christmas ones while we were just there can't wait for a Disney jammie party AND I picked out my tiara to wear down there (I didn't buy it there, but it's a Disney one-is Rachel's)

 The Disney jammies I'd picked up for myself barely fit Ariana but we found lots more while we were down there -- yay for a jammie party!!

Ladies!!

Do you want to add the Winnie the Pooh ride to our plans for our morning in Fantasyland ??? (right now we are doing PhilharMagic and iasw) I actually don't care if we ride the Ride, I just want to play in that cool que!!

Yes! We saw the new que but went thru Fastpass each time we rode... the honey walls look way cool!

Also did my "travel aisle" shopping (shout-out to jordanyosh!)

I picked up a postcard while there to send to Jordan. I always think of him in the travel aisle!

Thanks for all the :littleangel: and pixiedust:

I hope Catie is continuing to do well. More pixiedust for her! pixiedust: pixiedust:

Much like Julie, this Spectrum Moms trip had taken a bit of a backseat break for me until our Christmas trip was done. Now that we're back, my excitement level has cranked up another notch and I get a little thrill each time I see my open suitcase still in my room waiting to be packed.

My to-do list is very similar to the ladies here.....

1. Find Ariana's tiara - DONE!
2. Buy an AP - DONE!
3. Make a packing list
4. Buy a white long sleeved shirt
5. Make our awesome shirt w/Jessica's DISign

Yay! :yay: :yay:

Hope Catie is on the road to recovery now. How exciting to be making the DME arrangements! It seems like it is getting really close now.:woohoo:

1 month and 1 day, I can't believe it:scared1: I still have soooo much to do. Lets see those packing lists girls, I'm trying to figure out how to pack for 4 days and only take a small carry on bag. :) It's been so long since I've traveled via air, I'm welcome to any tips anyone has for all aspects of dealing with going to the airport, being in the airport and actually flying (which terrifies me btw:confused3)

I just hope I can clean up from the holidays and school vacation before it's time to leave!! :rotfl2:

I actually have "to something for the January trip" on my to do list for this weekend since Christmas seems to be under control.

I started the expense spreadsheet and worked up the cost per person for 1900 Park Fare, as soon as Amy confirms my numbers you will all be getting an email from me.

Gold Star to Amy for calling out way in advance that Disney would extend park hours at DHS and add a F! showing the night we would be there.

New hours for DHS on Thursday 1/20 are 9am to 8pm ---- F! showing at 630pm and 8pm.

Oh and it gets better ladies!

They changed our MK night!! New park hours are 9am to 11pm (instead of 10pm) and added a MSEP at 9pm!!!! Now we don't have to rush out of dinner if we see the 2nd parade at 9pm.....sound like a good plan??????

Between this news and the rice krispie treats I made, this is turning out to be a great weekend!!!!!

Woo Hoo!!:banana: Thanks Heidi!! I hadn't been checking park hours so I wasn't aware they had made the change yet. :thumbsup2

I really thought they'd add a second Fantasmic! but didn't expect a second MSEP - that will work out great for us - especially with our dinner ADR. :dance3: And any extra park time is always a good thing!! :woohoo:

I guess this means we get to play with our touring plans again!! :cool1:

By the way - the tickers say 1 month to go... but I'll come back & dance tomorrow on the 20th.

Just the MK for Saturday night plan will need to be tweaked. Probably just the order of how we do things. I just really happy that we don't have to rush out of our 1900 Park Fare dinner! The DHS plan works perfectly as it is.

Sunday is our free day to do as we please, but I'm sure most of us are hoping to not be solo the whole time...

So lets start some conversations on what our Sundays might look like:

I'm thinking of spending my morning in Epcot and then heading to DTD before it's time to hop on the ME.

I'm getting a gift card for Rainforest Cafe (hoping it will arrive before the trip) so was planning to make a reservation for 2pm on Sunday, anyone interested in dining with me? Just throwing it out there before I make the reservation, my time is currently available, I kinda figure that place doesn't fill up too fast.

Hope everyone is enjoying their Christmas break, I still have to work until Thursday, but am very much looking forward to a week off to catch up on DISing and trip planning.

My thought on Sunday is to definitely spend it in a park or two! I'm going to be avoiding DTD since I just got to spend a bunch of time there this fall & I'll be trying to keep my souvenir spending under control with our family trip only a month later.

As far as which park or parks to visit Sunday... I probably won't decide until I get there. I may want more DHS time, there's always tons to do at Epcot & MK is a great way to end a trip. :confused3 I'm guessing I won't be back at AK just because there's not too much else I would want to do there & my family loves to visit that park several times when we're there.
