I've never seen spectromagic-- is it worth a look?

Where are the best places to see it-- the resorts (Poly or maybe WL)? We're thinking of making PS for dinner and would like to time it to post a spectro viewing-- is there any schedule as to what time it passes by a particular place?

Thanks.

Spectromagic is a parade featuring brightly illuminated floats. It travels the standard parade route through the MK, so you would need to be in the MK and along the route in order to see it.

Oh, yes, Spectro is way worth it!

You won't see it from any of the resorts -- it is definately something you have to be inside the park for. The crowds will start developing on Main Street an hour and a half to two hours before the parade begins, but you should be able to find ample room near the end of the parade route.

And, if you go on a night that is is scheduled twice, take in some attractions during the first showing, and watch the second one.

I love Spectro!:Pinkbounc

You might be thinking of the Electric Water Pagent if you are thinking of viewing from a resort, which is not worth a special trip IMO.

If you have never seen it - you should at least once. You probably will want to see it again afterwards too! :D

After seeing your pictures Shells9, it has become a must see for our next trip. What are the best viewing locations? What are my options if I don't want to stake out a spot on Main Street two hours ahead of time?

Thanks!princess:

It does go through Fronteirland also. By the shooting gallary and Liberty Square!

I once had a PS at LTT - walked out and was able to sit on the rocking chairs in front of LTT and watch it. Since then, I watch that parade from no where else!

After going to WDW almost every year since 1995, last year was the first time we saw Spectromagic and we all said "WOW!

It was great and its something we don't want to miss anymore if we can.

We like to see it from the boardwalk in Frontierland, right near the exit of Country Bears. From there we can make a quick dash to Splash Mtn right after parade passes by

We saw Spectromagic last month somewhat spontaneously, as the kids were getting tired and we were thinking about leaving the Magic Kingdom (that's the 'we' that doesn't include 'me,' as it would take more than a few worn-out kids to make me leave a single minute before I absolutely have to). We found ourselves beside the barber shop about 10 minutes before the parade began, and realized as we checked our park maps that we were right at the starting point. So, we settled down on the curb, which was totally untaken at that point, and had about the best possible view of everything! Best of all, with a bit of dawdling about picking up our pictures after the parade, I was able to make us all stay long enough to watch Wishes!

The kids got lots of attention from the characters that walked by, and Captain Hook made an elaborate bow to me, which remains one of my favorite memories of the day.

Twice we've gotten our spot in Liberty Square and had a great view. We sit on a planter wall until the ropes are up and then move forward. This would on the left as you face the Riverboat dock (also just left of the stockade). You would sit with your back to the riverboat for the parade. You would see the parade coming toward you and then turn to your right as it goes toward Frontiertown. Clear as mud??

We were among the first to get spots in this area to get such a great spot - but you don't have to get these spots as early as spots on Main Street. We usually get a snack or supper and hang out for a while. The kids usually bring little charchter toys or something. I always find someone to chat with. :D

We wanted to see Spectromagic on our short trip last weekend, but it wasn't scheduled. They only do the Spectromagic parade 2 times a week right now, so make sure to look at the schedule and plan accordingly. I hope they will show the parade on non-MVMCP nights in December because I know my little one would love this parade!

Our favorite place to watch Spectro is right in front of City Hall, right where it starts. Once the last float has passed us by, we cut though the main street stores back into the park. That way we can get a couple more rides in, or catch the parade again in Frontierland. It always works like a charm for us!

your pictures are amazing. what kind of camera do you have and which film and setting did you use, if i may ask? thanks in advance

Hi, Francine.
It was a Sony CyberShot P9, on night mode. It's a handy little camera!

We've walked into MK 5-10 minutes before the parade started and stood near the fire house, which is just across from the barber shop. Those spots seem to be available at the last minute. Sometimes we've sat on the curb and other times we've stood behind someone else, but had a great view. It's very, very easy to leave as soon as the parade is over, if you're not staying for Wishes.
