We will be watching SpectroMagic and then wanting to be out of the park or very close to entrance while watching Wishes.

If we watch Spectromagic from close to Country Bear Jamboree, can we hop onto the Railroad to get to the front of the park after the parade, or does everyone try that.

Thanks for any suggestions!

I am pretty sure the train closes during Spectro, and I am not sure how long after it stays closed for. I would guess until after the fireworks also because the train is not far from where they shoot the fireworks from. I am not sure about this though, anyone else?

I don't think I would try that, first I think the other poster is right about the train closing and second if it's an 8pm showing of spectro with a 9pm showing of Wishes or 9pm and 10pm you're not going to have time to get on the train and take it to Main street if it's an hour between the times.

If you watch Spectro from Frontierland( like I do) the parade will get to you 20 minutes after it's start time, say 8:20pm it'll finish about 8:40-8:45 which will leave you no time to catch a train and get to main street.

My suggestion watch it from Frontierland and when it's over cut through the bathrooms that are in between adventureland and frontierland, adventureland will be empty and then once you get to main street you''ll have to navigate through some crowds but will have plenty of time to get to the beginning of main street to watch Wishes, this is pretty much what I do except I watch Wishes around the circle in front of the castle.

I think they are right that the train stops running. The middle of Main Street is good place to watch Wishes... so cutting through the bathrooms and heading there might not be a bad idea!

The Walt Disney World Railroad runs during SpectroMagic!, however it will suspend its operations about 30 minutes before the fireworks and stay closed until they recieve clearance to proceed following the show.

I have had several cast members tell me that it doesn't run during Spectro becuase the parade crosses the track backstage. Not sure though.

Train doesn't run during Spectro or Wishes. Tried to take the train from Main Street Station to Frontierland last Oct. and we were told the train doesn't run during parade or fireworks so we made our way down Main Street mostly through the shops.

That's right.

I've had CMs in the past tell me that the Railroad stops running during all parades. But I've never checked on this myself. Usually, while a parade is running I have found lines for rides to be much shorter, hence a good time to ride.

If I wanted to exit the park soon after the SpectroMagic Parade, I'd watch it from Main Street because it starts there and you can exit the park just as soon as it's over.

Enjoy.

And you might want to re-think that whole "being right at the entrance to exit quickly" plan. There's nothing quick about exiting the park after Wishes. ;) Sometimes it's best to just step aside and let everyone else push and shove their way out. It gets ugly at night - I can't tell you how many strollers have run over my toes or slammed into my ankles (or my kids' for that matter)

Also, you can stand over by Sleepy Hollow and see both, if I recall - or across the street from Sleepy Hollow, by the Christmas shop? I'm pretty sure that's where we sat to see the Spectromagic parade and Wishes can be seen from those vantage points easily.

We sort of stand to the left of the castle. I agree to just let the crowds just thin down. One year we ate after the parade and it ws perfect.

We watched spectromagic from the circle outside the castle then wishes from the bridge to tomorrow land, yes there were a lot of guests there but its a great place to watch especially with the castle all lit up .
The crowds whenever you go at this time is going to be heavy as this is the last before the park closes everyones going to be trying to get out but also (in theory :rolleyes1 ) should also be on a high from such a magical experience!!

As long as you are not in too much of a rush to get out (which I guess if you were you would have already left by now! :guilty: )you just need to play dodge on your way out :rotfl: :cool1: :rotfl:

We watched Spectro on the ropes in front of the Hall of Presidents and then walked over to the bridge by the Crystal Palace to watch Wishes. We all loved Spectro, especially my DD4. It got very very crowded and it was literally a crushing crowd trying to leave. Do not underestimate the crowd post fireworks...it was much worse than we had expected it to be and the bus lines were very long. Next time I will be tyring to catch the Wishes from the Beach at the Poly. If you watch inside MK definately sit tight to wait out the crowds..I thought my kiddos might get crushed and it was very rowdy at the bus stops.

I am an engineer on the WDW railroad... Let me see if I can explain this without confusing everyone (as it makes sense to me, since I have been doing it for a long time) :)

Yes, the parade crosses the train tracks, but that is not an issue, we have an engineer at the crossing that has control over the train movement. They are able to make a red block light so the train will hold for floats and then a green light when there is a break in the parade for the train to clear through.

The train will run through Spectro Magic, but it will not run during fireworks. let me give an example of the timing...

Scenario 1: If there is 1 Spectro that is at say 9pm and then the fireworks are at 10 (and the park closes at 10pm) the last train will pick up Main Street at 9pm. They will do a full loop picking up and dropping off at Frontierland and ToonTown and then do a Half loop dropping off at all the stations, when they reach Toontown (on the unload only trip) they will take the trains back to the roundhouse for the night...In this scenario the the trains have to be in the roundhouse before the fireworks begin...this is if the Park closes to day guests when fireworks begin... In this case the trains will actually cross through the parade MANY times, at least 4 passings for float staging before the start of the parade and usually 2 crossings at the end of the parade when they are coming back through in Frontierland.

Scenario 2: If there are 2 Spectro's and fireworks are in between. Say Spectro is at 9pm, Fireworks at 10pm and Spectro at 11pm... The trains will run as normal until 9:30pm, at 9:30 a train will leave Main Street that will return to Main Street and hold there through Fireworks, and the second train will leave at 9:40 and only go to Toon Town where they will hold through Fireworks. After the fire department has cleared the tracks between frontierland and toon town the trains will resume operation and will run until the park closes. In this case you will have the trains crossing through both parades Numerous times...

Anyway, in the original OP's case it will not work to take the train as the last train through usually passes through Spectro around the halfway point...sometimes it gets stuck and has to wait through till the last float, but not usually. Just trying to give an idea of how it works... Sorry if it was confusing, but to answer the questions YES the trains run through Spectro Magic everynight... NO they do not run during Wishes...
