i plan on watching the parade at 7 then leaving right after instead of waiting for Wishes at 8. i was thinking of watching it in Frontierland then getting on the train to the front gate. where's a good spot & how early to get there? it'll probably be mon. 1/31 so i'm not sure how crowded it'll be.

We usually get dinner at Pecos Bill's and then take it to the curb in front of the restaurant about 1 hour before the parade. I've not been this time of year so I'm not sure what the crowds are like.
Our last visit we watched the parade right in front of the train station (at the very beginning). We then exited the park immediately after. Most people were still watching the parade so we got on the monorail quickly. We usually stay for fireworks and watch in Frontier Land, but for a quick exit, this was the best.

If you are planning on leaving right after the parade, I strongly recommend Main St. rather than Frontierland. It'll be much easier to get out from there, plus, Spectro starts on Main Street anyway. If you watch in Frontierland and take the train to the front, the fireworks will probably have started by the time you get to the front.

After the first week, January usually isn't crowded at all.
