SpectroMagic Parade

Will this parade ever return to MK? The first two times we went to Disney (2008, 2010) it was there and we loved it. I much prefer it to the Main Street Electrical Parade. Are they currently running it at Disneyland?

Floats sat outside in the elements for too long. They were completely destroyed in the last year.

I still have faith *sigh* one day ...I know many prefer the MSEP but this holds a lot of nostalgia for me (family trips, ym engagement trip etc)

Maybe it's just me, but MSEP seems so outdated. I mean, obviously it's an old parade, but it doesn't do it for me the way Spectromagic did. And I especially miss the music.

Before our most recent trip I believe the last time I had seen MSEP would have been at Disneyland in the mid 90s as a child (it was there then, right?). Anyways, after it ended I was kind of like "....that's it?", I miss Spectromagic!

We never got the chance to see the SpectroMagic parade. It was electric lights when I was a kid and by the time we brought our kids, ELP was back. I did hear the same report that the floats were trashed so it was very unlikely to ever come back again, at least in it's old form.

Curious timing.

A friend is enjoying Toyko Disney this week. Last night he sent snippets of their night parade. I went to YouTube and watched the entire thing.

It is almost SHOCKING how good the floats can be when someone is willing to actually spend $$$$$ to ensure the parade is fabulous vs. what Dusney does here.......cheap as possible.

Take a look at YouTube. Pull up Toyko Disney Dreamlight Parade. .......but only if you are willing to feel like the ragged poor stepchild!

Almost worth sitting on a jet for all that time.......just to see the Genie! THAT float was awesome!

MSEP is my favorite for nostalgic reasons. Love the music, love the turtle, and love the Disney memories and feelings it invokes. Guess I'm old school on the parade thing.

I was excited when they brought MSEP back for the nostalgia of it, and I remember loving it as a kid, but now I REALLY miss Spectromagic The second that music started, I would get goosebumps It's a real shame it'll never be back.

I'm a MSEP lover from way back. I can't say I disliked Spectro, but it never did it for me the way MSEP did. And when Spectro had the creepy white faced clown guys? Eek!

I never saw spectromagic so I cannot compare the 2 but I love MSEP. I saw MSEP with my parents our on very first trip in 1986 and it will always hold a special place in my heart.

SpectroMagic was indeed spectacular; it even impressed a fairly jaded person like myself. MSEP was just OK the first time I saw it after it returned. Nice, but no wow factor. We don't bother with it anymore, but might catch the tail end of it if we're in the Splash/BTMRR vicinity.
