Spectro vs. Main Street EP

What is the difference? Aren't they kinda the same thing? A parade at night with lots of lighted up characters and floats and some singing.....

truely, honestly, except for sentimental reasoning, they are both pretty close to be the same. My main difference between the two is the MSEP's music gets to be like fingernails on a chalkboard after a few minutes.

Our travel dates are May 28-June 8 so I thought we might get lucky and see both while we are there !!!!!!!!

It's not so much that one is 'better' than the other..it's a matter of personal preferance. MSEP was our first Disney parade back in '99. When I got back there again, 18 months later, it was gone. I was so sad. But, I came to love Spectro..it is one of my favorite parades anywhere. But I am thrilled to get the chance to see/hear MSEP again this summer. How wonderful for those of us that love it but don't get to experience it anymore.

We are going May 29th-June 4th, and the schedule right now has Spectromagic on it through our entire stay...I wish they would switch it in the middle of our trip so we could see both! That would be great! I've only seen it once, because when we were there in October MNSSHP was the overlord of Magic Kingdom nights...

That first run ended in Disneyland in 1996.

The EP (not on Main Street) ran in Disney's California Adventure starting in 2001.
It will end its run there and head to WDW-MK this Spring.

MSEP ran in WDW-MK starting in 1977.
That first run ended in WDW-MK in 1991.

MSEP ran AGAIN in WDW-MK starting in 1999.
That second run ended in WDW-MK in 2001.

I believe the Main St. Electrical Parade was also in Disneyland Paris at some point after it left Disney World but before it came to California Adventure.

Now that I watched the videos I can remember the MSEP music from when I was a kid.... I have been to WDW twice now with mine and we've missed the parade completely both times... mainly due to weather (our first trip was during TS Fey!)

Fun to think that my boys will experience MSEP as their first parade!!! just like me as a kid!

The Disney site is only showing the night-time parade up through July. One assumes that it will show for the rest of the summer at some later date.
