spectro or fantasmic?

We can only do one or the other- Spectro is only on the night we arrive and one other during our stay. I have a fantasmic dinner package on the only other night spectromagic is running. Since I wasn't planning on doing the parks on arrival day, which do you think the kids (ages 4,4,5 and 6) would prefer?

Depends upon when you are going. We have done the Fantasmic dinner pckg twice and didn't need to either time, (Once in May, once in June). Both times when we got to Fantasmic, we had our choice of better seats anyway and didn't even use the reserved seating area.

I've seen Spectro a couple times too. Tough choice, Spectro is awesome!!!!
Your ONLY option is to see both of them.....lol

Given the choice between the two, Spectro gets my vote!

I would have to say that since your children are younger they would definitely get more enjoyment out of SpectroMagic. Fantasmic is amazing but it may scare younger children or just not be as interesting. Please don't think I don't absolutely love both, but if you must make a choice my vote is for Spectro.
