Spectro crowds in late August?

We had to switch our plans from late May to mid/late August (19th-Sept. 1). We have been there the last week of August leading into Sept. before(2004), but I don't remember Spectro being on every night that we were there. Is this something new?

Also, since crowds are usually kind of low the last part of August, and knowing that Spectro is every night (but only one parade a night), do you think the crowds for Spectro will STILL be overwhelming??

We have been there before on off season when the parade was only offered 2-3 times a week. You can hardly move! I felt like cattle........ mmmmmmmmooooooooooooooo....... And you had to line up for it an hour ahead to get a good spot.

Will it still be like that? What are your experiences in August?

To a certain degree its ALWAYS "like that".

Consider how many folks line up for the (far less impressive, IMHO) "3 O'Clock Parade du jour"... its always crowded.

We have attended in the first week of Dec.
We have attended in Jan.
We have attended in early Feb.

Yes, they do only present Spectro on fewer nights at these "low attendance" times, so the crowd is more "focused", but its Spectro and (when there is only ONE performance a night) its BUSY.

On nights when there are TWO Spectro's performed, the second one is usually much easier to enjoy.

This past year there were only 2 showings of Spectromagic the last week in August. Crowds were low that week and we had no trouble getting a front row view on Main Street a few mi utes before it started. Since the parade starts on Main Street this was the best location for us because we were able to leave the park as soon as the last of the parade passed us, before the rest of the park even got to see a good part of the parade.
