Disney did it right!
Woo Hoo!
GREAT job!
We arrived just after 2:00 p.m. thinking, ho hum. More so-so pin trade boards and same ol same ol.
We picked up our merchandise. A few people wanted me to buy them a few extras. We were told there was no final RSP. Remaining pins were just being sold First Come First Served at 4:00 in a nearby location.
We went to Prime Time for lunch. (The lunch vouchers that came in our packet were not good there. But the coupons are good for a long time, and at any WDW park.)
We were blocked in by the parade to get to the final pin sale location. But we still arrived early and were probably the 40th in line.
The only pins that were sold out by the time we arrived there were the Stitch/Pleakley and B&tB.
VERY nice set up. A CM went down the line and we each turned in an order with our names at the top, and were given a number.
We were in and out about 15 minutes after the registers opened.
Then we went into the pin board area, where the artists were signing pins. Went smoothly again.
I took maybe a dozen traders with me, figuring I was not going to bother with any pin boards.
I went through one line while Blaine sorted the pins. And by gum the selection was GOOD!
I went through several times. The lines were long. But nothing like the other two pin events I attended. Maybe a half hour wait in each. When the selection is good, the waiting seems worthwhile. And I did not mind putting LEs on the board when I was able to trade back for others.
Then finally it was near time to view the Osbourne Lights. Again, they did a terrific job and presentation. (Except for the jerks trying to make everyone return to the pin board room, and no one was. There were MANY of us and we were even threatened that no one could enter the light streets until we were all back in that room. Still no one moved.)
The desserts were good and lots of choices. The lights were fabulous. The CMs were wonderful. Stitch was even present.
We were not provided 3D glasses, which at first I thought odd. (Wishing I had brought mine from previous years.) But later I saw why. I think it was because of the food. Everyone probably would have been bumping into each other if wearing glasses and trying to eat and drink.

The parting gift -- FABULOUS!! Wait until you see it on Pinpics. Sure to be a hot item -- FIVE pins in a box set. Christmas ornament pins, and each has a loop on the top. Could be hung or worn on a chain.

By far the best of the three pin events we have attended -- and the cheapest too!

Sounds like you had a great time!!!!

I can't wait to see the lights in less than 2 weeks!!

Debbie

I agree with Barb...it was a wonderful and great time. They even did the snow on the avenue with the lights...of course I cried. (hush up Ed)

Here is a crude scan of the boxed pin set...I love it!

You Lucky guys got to go to that event and see the Osborne lights.
I will miss WDW so much this holiday season, I want to get there so bad.
Maybe if the Dr decides to hold off Chemo for another month I can get there for NYE. wonder if my nurses would mind a road trip.
By the way, I love that Mickey. I am jealous again. Peggie

I am glad to read you all had a great time at the Spectacle of Pins! Lynnie, those look so cute!

And all the event pins really look better in person than a picture.
The colors are very vibrant.

I only wish they had a Jessica SoP pin. Seems they only use Jessica at Valebtine's and Nurse's Day
