specific room request

i have my 11 month date coming up at the end of jan. have you ever requested a specific room? did you get it?

Requesting a specific room is usually a recipe for not getting anything close to what you want.

The previous occupant of the room you request has to be checking out on the exact day you want to check in. Chances of that are probably not very good.

So then what happens? The room assigner has no idea why you wanted that particular room and so you just go to the bottom of the pile while he/she pre-assigns rooms to the guests who had more general requests.

So is it possible? Sure, but it's not likely. Better to request what you really want - higher floor, close to elevators, view of xxxxx, etc.

If you really want to try for a specific room, my suggestion would be to request something that might put you in the area and then, when you check in, just ask if they happen to have that room available.

This way, when they go to do room assignments, you will at least be in the general area you want to be.

If all you request is a specific room, they won't have any idea of what you really want if that room is not possible.
