My DH and I will be taking our 2 DD's (2 and 4 yrs. old at the time) to the MK this December and staying at the GF. We wanted some room suggestions - one that is beautiful and has a FABULOUS view of the castle, etc., etc.

We had a great view and corner room (two balconies!) in Conch Key; I think the room number was 7425. We also had one in Boca Chica, but I cannot remember the number at all. However, in Boca Chica you could end up with a lagoon view facing the Poly and Contemporary.

The room at Conch Key - was it a CL room? Also, did it have a great view of the castle?

If you're staying main building concierge (RPC Club), room 4404 has a fantastic view. It is pretty much centered on the marina from which it is a straight shot down the center of the marina to a view of the castle. You can sit on you balconey at night and watch the fireworks and the colors reflecting off the castle (it does this all night long - even after the park closes).l

Requesting just a specific room # isn't a good idea. If that room is already occupied on your arrival day, they have no idea why you requested it and will put you anywhere. You are better off a view (example - castle view) and perhaps a building or floor.

DebbieB - are you familiar with the GF? If so, what is the Conch Key building like? So would you say my best bet would be just to ask for a CL room w/a castle view?

Some of the main building concierge rooms definately have castle view..centered, marina view is what you need to ask for.

What type of room did you book?

For a Castle view you need either a lagoon view room or Concierge Main Building.

Even then you might not get a Castle view. Conch Key does not offer concierge unless you book a suite.

Views are requests and requests can not be guaranteed and the Castle view if the number one request.

We had a perfect view of the castle from our LV room in Conch Key. Here is my trip report with the exact room #:

Here's a picture of our view:

We also had a castle view from our Honeymoon Room in the main building. I don't remember the room # but it was right above Gasparilla Grill. I wouldn't recommend booking a room in the main building unless you don't mind spending around $600/night.

I will definitely have to read your trip report - thanks so much for recommending it. I think what is most fustrating to me is I don't know the layout of the GF - so there is a Main Building and a Sugar Loaf Building - right?

Conch Key and Boca Chica have good LV rooms that could possibly overlook the castle. As long as you don't have a tree blocking your view. ;) Big Pine Key LV rooms will mostly be views of the Poly. That map should help you get a better idea. :)

Concierge is in the Main Lodge Building which houses Front Desk, the restaurants, shops etc. Also there is another building seperate from the main building, Sugar Loaf that offers concierge on a somewhat lesser scale than Main Building.

Also on the grounds are seperate buildings that house the lagoon and garden rooms without concierge and some suites. Those are Conch Key, Sago Cay, Boca Chica and Big Pine Key. All have some lagoon rooms with Castle views. Boca Chica probably offers the most due to the placement of the building on the property. Viewing the map listed will help you see this.

All I can tell you is to request that room or one very near it, and if it isn't already occupied, they will try very hard to honor your request. It could be if the party in that when you check in is going to be out soon after, they could move you when it is available. You may ask that upon check in.

Also, remember to fax your request to your resort 5 days in advance, so they can work on getting you that request. They can't honor all requests, so if that is the most important, put it first, or make it the only one!

Here's some pixie dust that your requested room will be available for you the day you check in!*********************************** :boat:

It's a concierge with two queens and a daybed. I don't think the deluxe rooms have a MK view. Here's a picture (that is the castle through the door).
