I am very interested in the Specialty Cruise for Illumination Viewing at Epcot. I have always heard about it but can't find much on the DisneyWorld Site. Can anybody give me a heads up on who to contact, how much it costs, when I can book, and if there is a minimum number of passengers.

My husband and I are going down 12/26/09 through 12/31/2009 and we are taking two teenagers from church that would not get to go if we didn't take them. We have done this 4 times now, taking a different child (just makes it more fun for all of us). :cheer2: :grouphug:

This is the first time that I am going to try and find enough money to try and do the cruise.:cool1:

For the basic cruise --$300 + tax when we went last fall.

Holds 10 people, I believe - the price is the same whether you have 1 or 10. They have some snacks/drinks on the boat.

90 days out is the booking window. 1-407-WDW-PLAY.

It will be very popular during Christmas week (it's always popular, but it's so crowded at that time, you'll have to be on the phone right when the booking window opens at 7 AM 90 days out).

I think there's some other cruise options now with the Celebrations theme for 2009, but I'm not too sure about that.

It was wonderful -- if you can afford it, I would definitely do it. We did it on Christmas night and it was a wonderful way to end the day.

(PS - this post will most likely be moved because you're in the Dining forums!)

I want to also add that the gratuity for the boat captain is not included in this price. This is something you pay directly to the captain at the end of the cruise. A normal 20% tip would add another $60 to the cost.

We have done this twice and absolutely love it.

Under the Theme Parks board, you will find a sticky with shares for these cruises too. Often dissers manage to snag one (they are hard to get) and they offer up the empty seats for splitting of the cost.

How long is the cruise - start to finish?? I want to surprise my parents with it when we go next October.
