My cousin's family with be staying at GKTW the same week that we are at Disney. They are not with MAW but are going through the Special Wish Foundation. Do all kids staying at GKTW get the special GAC card or just those with MAW? Also, if the new rumored system takes place halfway through a families trip, how does that work? GAC for first part and DAS the second? We will only be with them 1 day at the MK and they are fairly new to WDW - went with us 4 years ago and we did all the planning, etc. They are not on the DIS although I have recommended it many times and as far as I know they have made no firm plans except that one day at MK because they have an ADR at CRT for lunch.

It's been requested that we not speculate about GAC changes, and I think it's premature to determine how that might impact your cousin's trip - there is nothing definitively known about the changes. What I will say is that I believe WDW will continue to "do right" for wish kids and their families, whatever that may involve.

Enjoy your vacation!

The miceage article had a section on MAW accommodations. And I'll leave it at that.

They are not with MAW. They are staying at GKTW through A Special Wish Foundation. Do they get the same accommodation at the parks as MAW? That is what we need to know.

Your cousin needs to contact the wish granting agency. They will be able to answer that question for them.

She said they will be coming out this Thursday evening and she would ask. She had never heard of a GAC and definitely didn't know how to get one or use it. Like I said, they are planning to hit the parks for their first time on their own (2nd trip ever) with 4 kids, no plans, no ADRs and really not much knowledge of the parks. Because they have 3 days at WDW and will probably spend all of those at the MK, we will only be with them one day. Because of their lack of planning, we had to go ahead and make plans for our family and we will not be going to Universal or Sea World.

I would have them contact GKTW directly for the answer as they are the ones thatn work with Disney

1) At GKTW, we do not control GAC.
. . . this is a Disney program
. . . whatever Disney does, they do
. . . we cannot influence or change things
3) All I can answer is what we do for kids at The Village. *
. . . there are passes at GKTW
. . . we don't need them for the guests
. . . we have a lot of volunteer and paid staff, and we cater to the kids
4) With exception of some souvenirs, EVERYTHING IS FREE at The Village
. . . ice cream for breakfast
. . . food all day long
. . . pizza delivery
. . . gifts for kids
. . . Christmas every Thursday
. . . and a lot more

* I am a coordinator of volunteers at GKTW.
