Hi, was wondering if anyone has ever had any experience with the Special Tomato Buggy Stroller? I am looking for new "disney strollers" and wanted some feedback. Also, they are super-duper on sale at Adaptive Mall right now! I am looking for a better fit for my girls, who are getting bigger.

It's a great stroller! I tried one out for my son at therapy one day, but he was too big for it. It folds easily. It's comfortable, easy to push. We went with the Convaid Cruiser size 14.

Thanks...may I ask how big is your son? I want something that will last...maybe go wth the Maclaren XLR...goes to 65 lbs...but expensive as I need 2!

He is 7 years old and 85 pounds. He gained 28 pounds in a year from medication, but I guess that's the change off for many seizure free days.

I posted on you other post in the families section so I see you have answered more here so I will just post here.

You are looking a basic umbrella tomato or not its nothing special the dimensions are the same as the maclaren quest which isn't big at all. Skip the XLR its a beast and a pain to push.

My dd just turned 8 she is about 46inches tall and she weighs between 65 and 75 pounds (her weight fluctuates due to her immobility and digestive). She has low tone so foot well area can sometimes be an issue for us but she is learning to use them well. I love all of my maclarens but I have slowly depleted my fleet i only have one left its my volo and I am only hanging on to it to use for my nephew.

I'll be honest I have been on the hunt for that perfect lightweight stroller and the closest I have come to that is the I'coo Pluto its solid, good push, and has the largest seat available in an umbrella/lightweight model. I have only used it twice for my dd and keep going back and forth whether to keep it or not b/c when I use a stroller it usually ends up being my baby jogger city elite.

here is the link to my photobucket I have a couple of pics of my dd in the pluto. I couldn't load the photos I have of her in the quest b/c they are in an email and stored on a different comp. if you have any questions just let me know.

my dd is has low tone so she is mostly like pushing dead weight my 11 yr old is easier to push at the higher weights. Also if you scroll through my photos I have some pics of my dd in the baby jogger city classic that I had when we were in disney in dec of 2010.

Thanks SO much! I will take your advice and look into the I'coo Pluto instead...I need something easy to push. Although I do like the added weight limit of the Maclaren. BTW your kids are adorable! You really have gone thru alot of strollers! Thanks again!!!

The Pluto has solid frame so it doesn't give any when you push and since the front wheels are single hinged wheels they provide a better steering. The weight limit on a stroller is a basic guideline as long as you can push the stroller comfortably you will not have any problems at least w/ a better brand not so much w/ a cheapo. my dd exceeds the weight limit of the pluto and as I mentioned she is a dead weight which weighs down the push but it is still a good push when I put my nephew in who is the same height just different weight and the push is much smoother.

I have been through quite a lot and just want is in my album is not all that I have or have had. I've been through all the different models looking for this and that to suit my dd's needs. I live in a small town and we don't have places around here that I can go to and just try them out in the store so I buy and sell strollers several times a year looking for different options at different times. my lastest purchase was the aprica cadence and it is decent but not going to work out for me it is super lightweight at 14pounds has a 75 pound weight limit, and great height from the floor, but the angle of the seat is to deep so it is listed another group and getting ready to make an appearance on CL.

I think this GREATLY depends on the needs of your daughters to be honest. Regular strollers despite having higher weight limits still aren't made to handle children much over the age of 3 so if your girls are likely to need strollers for a while I'd consider looking into adaptive strollers. There are several great ones on the market and most your insurance would likely pay for. Insurance won't buy the Maclaren or Special Tomato ones though... you need too look at Convaids, Kimba, Swifty, Jazz, Bingo, Pixi, or Stingray to name a few.

We have a Swifty and have LOVED it. It pushes like a dream... better than ANY of the regular baby strollers we've ever owned. It weighs about 27lbs and folds up nicely and positions my son quite well. Here's a picture of him in it.
