Special things you do for your kids -- DIY?

I think there are ways to make disney "magical", or at least special, for 7 and 10 YO's. It's not the same as a 4YO but the beauty of Disney is the suspension of disbelief for everyone. How about making the books part journal, part scrap book? The kids can save recipes, tickets, stickers, etc. They can also decorate their magic bands with glittery nail polish/paint.

You can also leave envelopes by their beds with poems letting them know what is in store for the day. They will know it is from you but it will still be fun and different.

Or get them disney dollars or a disney gift card and let them spend it however they wish. Or let them earn disney dollars by doing good things at home.

You can also buy glow sticks for nighttime parades/fireworks and let them play tinkerbell and "pixie dust" the other kids around them.

I made them passports for World Showcase. There are great ones in the Creative DISignes section. I just printed them on card stock and carried them in ziplock baggies. The CM at each country in WS write the child's name and a message in their native language and stamp it with a Mickey stamp from that country. It is really cute.

This trip is for my daughter's 16th birthday. We will be in the Magic Kingdom on her birthday. She wanted this trip more than a car. So we are bringing her best friend with us. Yes, she knows. I bought her Mickey Mouse Birthday Ears for her, and I am going to have t shirts made too. My daughter's will say something like, "I'm having a Magical Sweet 16 Birthday". The other three will say something like, "I'm with birthday girl". These shirts will be wrapped so she can open them on her birthday. There will be a birthday card that will say something like, "We know you wanted a car too, so here it is". There will be a picture of a little red convertible. The picture will be of the actual car we bought for her too. My buddy will put this car in our garage when we are at Disney so when we get home, I'll open the garage and there will sit her car. The other surprise is they all think we are Staying at All Star Sports, but I changed the reservation to Animal Kingdom Lodge. 44 more days.

What a lucky girl! I can only imagine how great it will be for you to see her face after all of those surprises!
