Special Season List

I want to book a trip for Dec 29, 2002 till Jan 3, 2003. I was just reading a post where someone mentioned getting on the special season list up to 24 months prior to trip.

TWO QUESTIONS???

1 Will I need to get on a wait list for this time period?

2 Can I get on the list now or do I have to wait until a specific period away from the checkin or out date?

You can call now and get on the list. They will contact people this fall for December 2002. If you turn them down for a ressie this year, you stay on the list for next year. If you turn them down again they take you off the list. To get back on again, you just ask.

Also the special season list applies to Dec 24 to Dec 31 inclusive. But the way it works is that if any of the days you will be there falls on any of those dates you can and should get on the list for your entire stay. Thus you would be listed for a room from Dec 29 to Jan 3.

I have a question also regarding the special seasons list. I just got on it for a stay from 12/17-12/27/2002. I know that you do not need to select your home resort, but we wanted to so I asked for WL. Are there separate lists for each resort? Should I get on the list for the other resorts in case WL books before they get to my name? WL is my preference for that trip, but if it wasn't available I'd stay at one of the others.

I'm puzzled by the comments on getting on the list for specific dates....when I was put on the list I wasn't asked for what dates and assumed that this would be taken care of when I was contacted...am I wrong? It took me several tries before I was put on the list nevermind requesting specific dates (not that I know exactly anyway...)

The only time I did it a few years back I gave dates but I do not know if that was necessary (I volunteered them, I never asked if they needed them). Logically it is not, as they just contact in the order your name was put on the list and when they reach you either the time you want will all be available or it won't regardless of whether you gave the dates beforehand. As to the mulitple list question, yes there is a separate list for each resort and you can put yourself on multiple lists.6

You don't need to give the dates nor the size of the unit. You just get on the list.

No, you do not have to give certain dates. When I called to be put on, she did not ask me for the dates so I asked her and she said no, that they did not need them as yet. Also, I asked if I could be put on more than one list for a specific resort and she said that they would do it but don't "encourage it".
