special santa paper?

Yes-Usually "Santa" paper here has to have Santa on it :santa: DH never caught on until he asked to help me wrap our girls' gifts the other night.... I explained that Santa gifts needed to be wrapped in specific paper and he looked at me like I was :confused3 crazy... LOL! I've always done it that way but I usually wrap everything myself, so he wasn't aware of the "rule" :rotfl:

Santa wraps the presents he uses a sata wrapping paper it varies from year to year but he never appears on the regular wrapping paper. I usually use plain paper so I can embellish each present without it clashing with the paper.

Santa started wrapping with separate paper in our house a few years ago because I knew my second DD would notice-- our oldest is fairly oblivious to details like that.

This year my oldest DD (almost 12) was showing me these bows made out of wrapping paper that she saw and it suggested that you use the colorful bows with newspaper wrap. So we decided to do that for the Santa presents. I wrapped them in newspaper and she made the bows out of scraps of all the different wrapping papers.

When I was a kid Santa didn't have to use a special paper because everything under the tree was from him. (DH and I didn't like this for several reasons, so our kids get one gift from Santa instead)

Santa always wraps his gifts in different paper here. In fact, I forgot to buy Santa paper this year and have to send my DH out tomorrow to get some. He is not thrilled to say the least.

DH also fills out the gift tags from Santa since the kids don't see his handwriting as often as mine. I sign all the school papers and such.

Another "yep" here! Santa's presents have always been just wrapped with no names on them -- kids have their "side" of the tree. This is the first year (with DS16 and DD11) that I actually (DOH!) realized that if I assigned one roll to DS and a different one to DD it would be much easier to sort!

Santa wraps his presents in the thick sparkly gold wrapping paper with real fabric ribbons and huge bows. Mom and Dads presents are wrapped with regular paper and curly ribbon!

Didn't you know that Santa brings/sends some of the presents to the parents so we can help him with all that wrapping??? It also saves space in the sleigh. ;) That's why there are so many UPS and FED EX trucks around this time of year.

Parents also pay for some of the gifts from Santa. When I was little my parents always put a huge handful of silver dollars under the Christmas tree to pay Santa. I still remember being amazed at seeing all those silver dollars. Probably it was only ten or so but to me it seemed huge. We also left a candle burning so he could see better. It was in a large bowl of water for safety but burn it we did.

I always told my boys I helped Santa wrap and that explained the paper.

my SIL helped me wrap tonight and i had to explain to her all of our Paper Rules.

each boy (2) has their own Santa Paper. The main color is different, so there are diff. colors under the tree. This yr, one is red/white candy cane stripes, and the other is blue w/ snowmen on it. usually i try to get paper that looks cute together, but this year i resolved to NOT buy any more paper until it's all used up, so i used 2 unopened rolls i already had.

to know which paper goes to which kid, they look @ which paper their stocking stuffers are wrapped in.

they must NEVER see the santa paper.

it's sort of a PIA. having to make sure they never see the paper... i went to hide the paper in my closet until they go to sleep (then i'll take it to the basement) and found the santa paper from LAST YEAR still tucked in the corner. they get diff. paper each year, and then i use the old santa paper for gifts from us or to other people.... so far neither have remembered their santa paper from the previous yr, but if they did i'd just say santa gave me the rest of the roll. one yr i MAJORLY over-bought and thought i'd be using that same santa paper for decades.

Santa's wrapping paper has images of Santa on it! That's how you know it is from him. Any other wrapping paper is fair game for the rest of the gifts.

(Please keep in mind that I have only being doing this for 2 years- my DS is 15 months old, so this is his second Christmas- I reserve the right to give up in a couple of years if I want!)

LOL!! I do the same. My kids are 17, 14 and 11!!

Santa paper has Santa on it-the rest of the presents are wrapped in other paper. We have always done this.

It's so funny to see so many other people doing the Santa wrapping paper thing too. DH helped me wrap some gifts this year (without my knowledge) and apparently didn't know the Santa paper rule. When I told him he used the wrong paper for inter-family gifts, he looked at me like I was crazy!:santa:

How else am I supposed to keep it straight. It's a lot of work keeping up the Santa facade. :rotfl:

This was always how Santa wrapped our presents when my sister and I were younger! :) I still remember getting so excited when I saw the special Santa wrapping paper. :yay:

Oh my goodness, no wonder some people are so stressed out by the holidays! Wrapping stocking stuffers...separate Santa paper...lockers to store separate Santa paper...colour co-ordinating gift wrap..I think my head might explode.

Needless to say, Santa doesn't leave wrapped gifts in this house.

I think I had Santa wrap presents the first year or 2 with my oldest and the paper was different. However, that didn't last long! Santa does not wrap any more. I have found it's more fun for our kids to come running out on Christmas morning and to see what Santa brought without having to unwrap it first. Usually it is their big item (or 2) that they really, really wanted and Santa can be really creative in how he sets it out for "display" but we don't wrap the gifts anymore. It makes things much simpler on Mommy and the kids LOVE it!

Everything else is from mom and dad and is wrapped and under the tree already so there is no confusion as to which gifts are from whom either.
