Special Request for Law Enforcement & Firefighters

My DH has a friend he works with. Steve currently has custody of his 17 year old grandson, Austin. Austin has Spina Bifida with Hydrocelphalus, is paralyzed from the waist down and is really interested in anything to do with any type of Law Enforcement agencies.

Recently he was given a hat with a patch from one of the local law enforcement agencies and was absolutely thrilled to receive it. Steve said his eyes just lit up. Steve found a website that you can design your own patches and he designed one for Austin and printed out the picture of it for him. He thought that was great.

I have a special request for any law enforcement, fire fighters and other first responders. I know that it would really make Austin extremely happy to get patches from other law enforcement officers or fire fighters. He admires all these men and women and would love to become one, but knows that he will never be able to do that.

If you could pm me, I will give you my address to send them to. I would just like to do something for a special young man who knows his limitations and is kind of going through a rough time in his life.

Bumping up. Was hoping to get a couple responses.

Austin lived with his father for awhile and now would like to live with his mother, but I guess she had some problems for a while. She has her life straightened out and would like Austin back in her life. Until everything is settled, Steve and his wife have temporary custody of him. He is going through therapy and has trouble saying or telling the therapist or his case manager that he wants to be able to live with his mom.

He gets this enthusiasm when talking to a police officer of any sort, when discussing law enforcement officers of any type, firefighters, and other first responders.

I just wanted to do something special for a nice young man.

There are 3 policemen with kids at our bus stop (its a very safe and protected stop lol) ... I'll ask them tomorrow if they have any extra patches.

try emailing some police deparments, most will send patches if you ask. I know I got a bunch that way!

Most departments will send you some if you ask. I know a lot of officers trade them around when they travel. Some are really into it, others not so much. Let me see if I have any extras or duplicates, and I would absolutely send some on.

I'm sorry--I was gone to WDW when you posted this!

I'll ask my husband if he can help with this. He loves doing this for kids who enjoy the patches. I'll PM you when I find out.
