Anyone else lucky enough to get this opportunity???

WOWEEE!!! We were in shock at the amazing chance we got to see the characters. It was just a handful of families, I'd say maybe 10 or so, and a ton of characters came and interacted with the kids and us for a long time. It was so personal, so amazingly unreal for the kids. I had tears in my eyes watching my girls just in awe of the characters and loving the attention.

I have no idea how we got picked for this. But the one day there was the invitation on our fish for it. We didn't know what to expect, but showed up and were completely shocked.

Made a great cruise fantastic, and gave my girls such special memories!

Anyone else get invited to this?? Do you know HOW we got picked? Peter Pan took a real liking to my one daughter (his number one fan) and I have a feeling his magic was all over our invite. :)

^^^ Don't know how you got picked, but congratulations!!! Wish we would have had such an opportunity at either of our two past sailings. We love the characters and took pictures with them every chance we could. I'm glad they do this special character meet/greet for a smal number of families. It makes us want to go back to DCL and hope we get picked next time. :goodvibes If you ever find out how you actually got in, please come back and let us know! ;)

Sounds like one of Disney's "Magical Memories."

We noticed there was a "Family of the Day" who were the first to board the ship. The next week, at WDW, we were randomly chosen to be the "Family of the Day" (or first family to be seated for dinner) at Boma in the AK Lodge.

Congratulations on your special surprise.

Yes, have seen posts on this before. (and have seen videos on youtube) It seems that folks get the invite based on a character interaction that may have happened earlier in the cruise. Just one of those DCL "Magical Moments".

There is nothing you can 'do' to get invited...just be sure if a CM asks for your cabin number....tell them! Sometimes kids get personalized autographed photos delivered to their staterooms too.

We got an "special invite" to this event on our last cruise in April 2010. The characters all came into Studio Sea and we got to get autographs and photos. This was on last night before they all go to the atrium for "Till We Meet Again". My DD's still talk about this Magical Moment :goodvibes

I made the arragnments for my nieces on their first DCL Cruise. They were just nine at the time and had lost their father to after a long illness just 9 months before. I e-mailed DCL before the cruise and asked them if they could do some magical moments for them. Both the girls got to be part of Dreams. One of them was upset cause she wanted to be Snow White. They were given some stuffed toys, went to the tea and got the invite to the special meet and greet.

It is my understanding that certain Cast Members are on the look out for people to give special treats to though out the cruise. It can happen at any time and to anyone. DCL really helped me to make the cruise special for my nieces and my sister.

On another note we have never been picked for the special Magic but that will not keep me off my favorite Ship (all Four of them)
