Special Orders-Need Info.

After looking at the food porn page I fell in love with the slipper and I know you can only order them at the GF and I do not know if we will eat there. I also know you can order cakes and have them delivered to your room. I was wondering if any of the other places offer special order deserts and treats? This is my late honeymoon and I wanted to get something special, but I do not know what is offered or where to look. If anyone has any info. please let me know.

It depends on where you are staying. Only the deluxe and home away from home resorts have special things like that you can order...that I know of.

You would call that resorts in-room dining and ask what they can do. Some have the white chocolate mickey with chocolate covered strawberries...I ordered one at the Boardwalk Villas and I know you can get them at the Beach Club. I know that the AKL and the WL have special chocolate items/cakes you can order...again you'd call in-room dining to see what they could do.

I don't think the values or the moderates have anything like that though.

You could check out the menus at www.wdwig.com and see what's listed under each resort's in-room dining menu.

We just had the chocolate slipper desserts delivered for our lunch at CRT last week. I called WDW dine and got the number for birthday cake/special occasion orders. (I can't find the actual number--sorry!) They took my order and the slippers were brought to our table at dessert time by our server. The cost was added to our ticket for lunch. I paid for them separately since our lunch was on DDP.

There was a thread a few weeks ago showing some really beautiful cakes (for birthdays, but anything can be adapted) by KIRSTIN'S MOMMY (click HERE ). As I recall, I think there were quite a bit of other information regarding ordering on there, too.

I have also seen some pictures of a beautiful "mini" castle cake done in white chocolate - I'll try to find a link for you! Click HERE for another birthday cake thread, look at post #24 on pg. 2 - picture of the castle cake!
