All the special offers, tickets, room deals, etc., that I see available right now seem to end in April. Not having followed DL discounts and deals before now, can you tell me if the specials end there for the summer, or do some other specials show up for May?

Most of the major deals in the past have only gone through April, so unfortunately I don't see it being different this year.

I can only speek from my experience last year, we went the end of April 09.
The 5 for 3 deal was just ending and the everyone plays for kids prices was just begining (or other way around). I do not know how long the second offer lasted.
we also only used these for park tickets and not hotel/ticket package.
It does seem ALL the offers are being offered now- Jan thru April

we are going this year mid may, so I dohope something comes available!!

Yep. For the last few years the deals have only been to April. I believe this year because of the economy DLR was doing some "4 nights for the price of 3" at the DLR hotels during the summer. Others may be able to confirm this.

Last year they a ticket deal through the summer--I think it was the 5 days for the price of 3 deal through the summer, which isn't a huge savings, but it's something. I don't know historic prices but I THINK I remember people being surprised because Disney usually doesn't have summer specials.

I also think there may have been some hotel "deals" on-site, too, but since they were still at least twice as much as a "Premium" room at HoJo, I can't say I paid much attention. :)

If the economy picks up by next summer then there may not be deals, but if people are still watching their spending, I would suspect Disney will roll out some more offers to try to convince people to come from afar. :)

Last year there were new specials for the summer. They weren't announced until the first of April though and lasted through the end of September.

To be honest with you, I saw nothing about the economy being bad when I was there in August. What would you consider a good deal $$$ wise, we saved a bundle and stayed at the GCH to boot.

I don't understand what you mean about not seeing anything about the economy being bad? The crowds INSIDE the park can be seen in some ways as indicative of a bad economy, because more locals are opting to Disneyland instead of going out of town. Or do you mean the GCH itself was super-crowded? (I don't think Disney would ever say "The economy is bad; come to Disneyland!" but they WOULD offer deals to try to entice people into spending--great deals can fill hotels.)

Other people are a lot less cheap than I am, and that's just fine. I am sure you got an excellent deal!

For MYSELF, though, a deal that I would strongly consider taking advantage of would be $100/night or less (including taxes) for an on-site hotel. I MIGHT pay $150 for the GCH, but I'm still not certain I'd be able to fork over that much (probably for a night or two just for the experience, but almost certainly not for 4 nights unless I had 3 roommates).

That doesn't mean that paying more is not a great deal, as obviously rates for those hotels run much, much higher than what I would pay for them. It just means I too cheap to spend that much on a room myself!

There were more people in the park than I have ever seen but expected it. I have mostly gone mid to late August but the 4 years it is my impression the park are busier. Disney will always have specials of some sort advertised or not(pins). The AP's continue to climb so people must think there is value and if I lived 2-3 hours away, I would be there at least a couple time a month.
The GCH very very busy but great room and great service and would not have been possible except for the 5-3 deal. There are 6 of us, so going anywhere is not inexpensive.

Just wanted to know what you considered a deal for a stay at DLR and then I can multiply it by 6. A good deal does not = fleabag. I love deals.

But as with everything, it is very subjective.
