Disney souvenir stores used to offer a special product (back pack or blanket) for a reduced price when you purchased a certain amount. Is this still active? If so, what is the current offer? I will be at WDW soon and am trying to plan! Thanks for any knowledge you can offer concerning this!!!

Hmm. You know I was never offered anything come to think of it. I think I saw a starter set lanyard offer at one store and some sort of bag at another but I wasn't interested in either so I never asked about them. This was the week of April 21, 2015.

It was a blanket mid-March. We got one - $20. I should have gotten 3. My kids just argue over it. :sad2:

I've seen a beach towel, a fleece blanket and a nice backpack at different times of the year. Usually at 5-10 dollars off of their usual price.

I was there last week. It was a pin starter set or the Mickey backpack for $19.99 with a $40.00 purchase.

They usually switch over to the beach towel around this time. I am hoping for that for our trip in two weeks. We like the towels!

Is it the blue one with the castle? I know we have one but now I am wondering where it got off to. I should have gotten more it seems too! :scratchin

DH got me a cute cloth/vinyl cooler bag with a Mickey face on it from the Disney store last week. It was normally like $30 but offered for $10 with $50+ purchase or something like that.

I have yet to see anything good on the promotions that I'd be interested in. Smart though on Disneys part. Have someone buy something for $40 or $50, then sell them something for $5 or $10 off the regular price that they normally wouldn't buy.

It's the one with the retro Disneyland writing on it...

Does anyone know what the backpack looks like? Anyone have a picture?

I don't have a picture but it was black with red/yellow/white mickeys. It was like a kiddie backpack for preschool aged kids. Nothing like the awesome backpack last year. Every year, I get the promo item. I was so disappointed this year.

We got the DL version of this in December. It would be fun to find a WDW version when we're there in a few weeks. :)

yes they still do this.
when i went a few weeks ago i thought the items were not nearly as worth it as they were the last time i went.
it was some pin collection (i don't do disney pins) or a tiny backpack.

in the past i found the items to be well worth buying for example a large beach towel, a regular sized school backpack, a fleece blanket....

That's unfortunate to hear it's not a full size backpack. We got an awesome one on our cruise in Oct and my son took it and has been using it as his school bag. It would have been great to get one from WDW

I wasn't so impressed with the backpack from last year....2 weeks carrying it around Disney just about did it in (the straps are barely hanging on). I would love to see the little backpack, might be good to carry on trips around home.

So true. I always WANT to want it ... but it's just not usually an item that interests me. I think we did buy a tote bag once ...
