The only thing that would keep me from getting a pin for a celebration that wasn't ON that date is how the person would react.
On our recent trip, our first day in the parks was my son's b'day, and it was great for him to hear HB all day long. Well we were moving a lot slower than intended (thanks to my ruining my feet the night before walking HoJo-ParPier in "cute" heels I'd never worn before) and barely got to DCA, and not getting the b'day pack of tortillas from the Mission tortilla factory tour was unacceptable, LOL. So I explained to him (a very literal 4 year old) that we had his b'day in
Disneyland and the next day would have his birthday in DCA, and he was cool with that. But any longer than that, and I don't think he would have liked it. IN fact he took off his pin early in the day, and I had to put it back on him for the tortilla factory tour (it's the ONE free thing we got from a b'day, forgive me!).
So if your nephew might have a problem hearing HB from CMs and guests who are paying attention, then don't make him wear it.
And if it will get weird for you hearing H Ann, it's OK to take the buttons off, too.

Hubby wanted to wear his last September (our first day was exactly a month after our anniv) for the whole trip, and I took mine off at some point on the second or third day (which caused WEIRD looks).
Did you say this is your daughter's first trip, by the way? Be sure to get her a 1st Visit button, if that's so, b/c otherwise she might feel left out.
