Special Ocassions.....

When we booked our cruise, first one, they asked if there were any speciall ocassions we will be celebrating.

On our first cruise it will be my dh and I anniversary and the 2nd cruise will be our twins birthday.

What do they CM do for "special ocassions"? or is it just informational?

My son had his 9th birthday on the Disney, he recieved a special pin that said "Happy Birthday", and had a cake after dinner, everyone sang to him, including a lot of the guests.

Don't count on anything..lol. Everyone at our table was celebrating a special occasion..lol...dining room person..the one you only see on tip night..lol..visited the table..asked questions..arranged nights for cakes for everyone..lol.

Can you believe it was not carried through..not one person at the table got their cake. We all wished we wouldn't have tipped her after that..lol. It was the big joke at breakfast the last morning.

Not that we needed the cake, but she went out of her way to arrange it with each family at the table that first night.

It's always so odd to me that people say they had no interaction with their head waiters. We've always had very involved head waiters who assist us in many ways. Last year when travelling with an 8 month old, our head waiter made baby food for us each night (we don't use jarred--he would puree peas or green beans, make mashed potatoes plain etc.). This is just one example, but we've always been pleased with our head waiters and tipped them above and beyond the recommended amount.

I agree. Jeff was our head waiter and he was terrific.

HE came by the table everynight, often twice. He interacted with the kids as well as the adults.
