Hi!
I have been looking at this forum for months now and have found it so useful for planning a trip!!!
I was wondering if someone could help me as I'm a bit confused about the access pass that you can get for special needs. I called DLP and explained that my son has Aspergers syndrome and they said if I bring a doctors letter confirming the diagnosis I could get a pass. When I emailed to ask about the pass, I was told that I would need a letter dated in the last 3 months... this means asking for another as our official diagnosis was given last year. Please could someone tell me whether the original letter is sufficient and also what the pass actually means and whether only my son and one adult would recieve one? Im a little confused with it all!!! thank you :goodvibes

Hi bizzilizzi and welcome to DLP DIS board :wave2:
We are a friendly bunch here so please join in on any other thread or if you have a number of questions then just start a new thread for each :goodvibes

If you have not had a look yet, DLP posting rules are here, DIS posting guidelines can be found here.

If you are advised to bring a recent letter I think it would be worth doing this rather than having any complications at the park.

When you get to City Hall the CMs will talk you through the questions and will give you an access pass dependant on the assessment.
The access would be for your son and up to 3 others.
There is a link in The Very Useful Info sticky :)

Hi Bizzilizzi
My DS also has Aspergers and ADD and has coped really well on our trips to DLRP. We didn't know about the special needs pass when we first visited and on our other trips we didn't feel we needed one.
Of course everyone has different needs and I'm sure the CMs at City Hall will do their best to make sure you have a magical visit.
Will this be your first trip? When are you going?

Thanks for your replies...
We are going in 3 weeks time...really can't wait! I went the first year DLP opened for 4 days, and on a day trip about 10 years ago, but my little ones have never been (7 and 4)
so excited!! :woohoo:
