Ok, so I'm looking for a special idea for a mother/daughter dinner. I had planned on Akershus, but I've not seen good reviews from there lately. I'm still considering that, or maybe doing the buffet at 1900 Park Fare?

Our situation is a bit different, though. I'm the daughter (24) and my mom (the surprise trip recipient) would kill me if I told her age. I want to plan something special for just the two of us (while DH and DF go to ESPN Club.)

I had my heart set on Akershus as a princess dinner, but I don't want to have a bad experience because of the food. We're normally not picky; it just doesn't look like the dinners there have been great lately.

Any opinions on the two - Akershus or 1900 Park Fare - would be fantastic. Or, if you have any other ideas, I'd greatly appreciate those! (I don't want to do CRT as we've done that every trip and it's not on my mom's favorite's list.)

We ate at Akershus in December, and we all thought the food was good. We haven't done 1900 Park Fare yet. If your heart is set on multiple princesses instead of just Cinderella people, I would say go for it. If you haven't looked yet, you can find the menu at allears.net

It isn't completely set on just princesses - I want something extra special. I've looked at the menu, too. I'm sure there are a couple things we can find - that one dish that looks kindof like a meatloaf sounds good, but that's what I've been reading wasn't good lately.

Anyone else have any thoughts on either place??

What about the Tea at the GF? It's a lunch not a dinner but it sounds wonderful when people review it. Lovely food, very "girly" atmosphere. However if you have your heart set on princesses, I would go with 1900 Park fare. Have a wonderful time. When my daugther is your age I hope she is as thougthful as you.;)

Hey girl! Yeah, I know my mom wouldn't like the food at Akershus. We did 1900 PF dinner in August and the food wasn't good but the characters (Cinderella, Prince Charming, Lady Tremaine, stepsisters) were awesome!

Does it have to be a character meal? My mom's favorite meals were Ohana (we had a table by the window at the perfect time for Wishes!), Coral Reef, and Jiko.

Raglan Road was REALLY nice and our food was AWESOME!! You can even make reservations online through their website!

My mom and I(19) second the Tea idea! Its starts at two but ends four thirty so the last sitting could be considered an early dinner. We're doing it for the first time this June. We both enjoyed the food at Akershus last June, but it is rushed and loud because of all the little princesses!

An elegant and very polite service can be had i n the Japan pavillion at Epcot: TOKYO DINING!...

It starts with warm towels, lots of gracious bowing and excelent service! It is very traditional Japanese! There is cooked food, not just sushi as many think. There is a beautiful Japanese Garden full of butterflies, and a quiet brook outside of the restaurant...lovely to sit by. :flower3:

Does Tokyo Dining do hibachi grilling like other Japanese dining places do? I love that.

I've also heard great reviews about the Italian restaurant. Something about a balcony too that you can see Illuminations from - am I right?

Also, we love LeCellier LOVE IT! Its one of my favorite places to eat! Would you & your mom like that idea?
