Special meeting

MS is closed. They closed at 3:15 today. My guide is also attending this same meeting. So the guides, and the reservationists, all going to a meeting. Hmmmm..... Why hasn't anyone started a rumor about this meeting!!! Come on!! We are slippin'!!

I bet it is the $101.00 per point update, rather than the Contemporary DVC announcement though.

Of course, it could just be about a Billboard to announce a Billboard that's going to announce yet another bigger MOVING 3D Billboard! JMHO, YMMV!

Do you remember if they had meetings like this at the last price increase, or is this unusual? Just wondering if it's worth speculating or if this is business as usual when they increase the prices.

I hate to say it but anytime I've had to attend a meeting like that, it has to do with a major restructuring and layoffs. Sorry to be a pessimist but I would not automatically assume it is something good.

I've been wondering how DVC will address the new Family Suites at the All Stars. As DVC'rs, we don't see them as competition. Other than maybe as a way to stretch points by avoiding a weekend, I am not interested in the Values. But the guides & other sales staff will likely get questions from some potential DVC members. I can DVC doing some training to prepare for this issue; how to fairly compare to DVC, etc. That, and would it be possible that you could use points for stays at these suites?

Those could be a reason for the meeting. But I prefer to think it is the Contemporary or Disneyland DVC's!

AAAHHHHH I think I will dream of a Contemporary DVC or even Hawaii , I'll probably wake to a price increase and kicking my self for not adding on sooner !!!!!

I am still hoping for DVC resorts in Anaheim, Paris, Tokyo, and Hong Kong. I can at least dream about that happening.

I read on the rumor board about a possible rape involving students in the college program. Management probably called the meeting to issue a statement covering new security measures for the safety of employees and guests. They could even offer counseling to those who know the people involved.
New DVC locations would be wonderful, but I think the meeting addressed the possible violent crime on WDW property.

Oh wow! Now I feel like a heel starting this rumor thread. That is probably it. I was horrified by this. My first thought was to feel sad for her pain. My next reaction was to ponder how four humans could conspire to commit such an act! Not one, or two but four people from all different places in the college program (presumably) could find each other in WDW and decide to commit this horrible act. It really makes me mad!

I was driving home just now and started thinking about they're being closed and was getting hopeful.

But now that Snowbunny mentions it, this is probably the case. My brother, an imagineer, just went to such a meeting last week. There is some major restructuring going on right now. I wouldn't be surprised if it's DVC's turn to learn where they will be in this whole thing...

I just talked to my guide. Although he didn't attend the meeting (it was his day off), he heard about what went on. In general it was a pep talk, and both Roy Disney and Bob Iger attended. He said they discussed how DVC was one of the most important parts of the Disney organization.

I joked about the rumored Hawaii and Contemporary DVC resorts, and he just laughed. He did say there would probably be some kind of announcement in the fall.

I just got off the phone with my guide and he also pretty much stated the meeting was alot about a little of this and a little of that....DVC sales are going strong and while we all speculate as to which resort is the next, he said it is happening....and we'll all hear down the road abit...he also chuckled when I mentioned CR but gave no indications .....oh well, more for us to ponder, I guess!
