Well, I've been w my bf/ future husband for 3 1/2 years and this is our first vacation together. (December) His family is in a very bad position financially and he never had health insurance, birthday parties, (or even gifts after age 8!!) vacations (did go to Disney and Hawaii at age 8 when mom was maxing out dad's credit cards during a nasty divorce) etc. I really really really want to make this vacation for *him*. He has really been through a lot of things he hasn't deserved and he deserves something really special. His bday is Dec 24 and we are leavingthe 26th, so while it's not exactly his bday it's close. We are spending 3 days at Disney, 4 days on Disney Cruise and 2 more days at Disney. He *loves* Mickey and Minnie and Stitch.
So far I am planning on surprising him with REAS romantic turndown package, massage, etc. on the Cruise. I also plan on getting him a Mickey bar from room service without telling him they have them. I've bought him pajama pants and new bathing trunks from DisneyDirect (on sale!) and will sneak in his suitcase or give as a bday present.
I would *love* to have a gift from "Mickey" in our room when we check in. Not sure how to do that. Maybe something on the plane? Any other ideas?

I don't know how much money you want to spend, but check out giftsofalifetime.com they can "surprise" your bf at the parks one day...you should go to their website and read about it. Very cute ideas. Also, Disney has a florist, where you can order "DISNEY BASKETS" and have them waiting for you in your room upon arrival..they have lots of neat stuff in them, snacks, souvineers..and so on.
If he likes Mickey alot, you could go to MVMCP, you need to buy tickets in advance. But I hear its lots of fun. You can read about it on the boards or Disney's website. It's after park hours, and only a certin amt. of people are allowed in. Sounds like he might like that.

Good Luck, sounds like you are planning a wonderful trip for the two of you!
Enjoy yourselves.

Search the DIS boards for "guest of honor" badges. I ordered them from Days of Christmas in DTD as a surprise for DS and DW and we were able to pick them up at the gift shop in our resort when we arrived, so no shipping fees! They proudly wore them not only at WDW but on the cruise as well.

Sorry to disappoint, but MVMCP is only held before Christmas.

Epcot do the Candlelight Processional - a massed choir and guest speaker telling the Nativity story - that is usually done up to the end of December. Packages can be booked for the reserved seating area and a meal.

hmm.oh i heard it was until new year. sorry for the miss advice then.

Make sure you get a birthday button from each of the parks. They give them out in Guest Services (these is usually located near where you enter the park). There is one for each of the parks (although MK and MGM are the same) and there is one from Downtown Disney. We were just down in May for my birthday and everyone wishes you a Happy Birthday when you wear your button. I am sure they have one from the Cruise Ship also. We did the cruise NYE 2001 to 2002 and it was great. Also let them know at your hotel. My boyfriend did this for me and one night when we got home from the parks I had balloons and a happy birthday card from Mickey. Also mention it at any of the restaurants where you eat. I got a cupcake at 'Ohana, a small cake and a Magical Moments Certificate from the castle for lunch and a great chocolate mouse desert in Norway. Disney is the best place to celebrate your birthday. My boyfriend had so much fun, he wants to go back next year for his birthday.
