Special Events Reserved Seating

It looks like World of Color has special reserved seating with a dinner or dessert package. My daughter is 13 and it'll be a mother/daughter trip so I don't mind doing something special if worthwhile. I also believe I read that Frozen and the Electric Light Parade have dinner packages? It sounds like the light parade is debatable. I've read one person who mentioned a bench and one who said no benches. Not sure about that. Are these the only three events that have reserved dining packages? Thanks! We usually go to WDW so it's been awhile.

World of Color has two different kinds of packages you can get. The dining packages don't include seating. You eat your meal earlier in the day at the restaurant and then you get a pass for the reserved area, which is standing only but is pretty much front and center. You still need to get there early if you don't want to be stuck standing behind other people in the dining package area. It's a good option if you'd like to eat at one of those restaurants anyway.

The other WoC package is the dessert package, and that one does include seats, a table, food and drink right there in the viewing area. In my opinion the view is not as good as if you got there early and stood up front, but it's still good. You're farther back in the viewing area but elevated slightly so you can see over everyone's heads. It's a good option if you don't like dealing with crowds or standing during the show, and you don't need to get there very early if you're not picky about which table you get.

My understanding is that the dining packages for the parade do not include seating, though you can sit on the curb if you get there early. I've never done them or the Frozen package, so I don't have much opinion to give on value. I think that's it for dining/entertainment packages for now, but if you'll be there after Fantasmic opens back up there might be packages for that.

I'd suggest the WOC lunch option at Carthay Circle - if you're wanting to try Carthay Circle and it's available. When I costed it out (comparing the cost of an appetizer, entree and dessert vs the cost of the package), it was well worth the money to do the lunch and get the prime standing room space. To be fair, it was considerably more than I usually eat for lunch, but ooohhh so good. Arrive a little early to have time to look around the inside at all the pictures on the first floor. Another lunch bonus is the bar isn't full, so you can look at the pics there too.

But ... no seating, it's just standing room albeit in a prime location.

As mentioned...ONLY the WOC Dessert Seating comes with an actual seat. All other shows and dining packages are a just a reserved viewing area which are still standing sections with the exception of Frozen...which is a seated theater for everyone.

Reserved seating can be had for WOC by purchasing the dessert party. I am not a person who likes to stand around and wait and therefore buying the dessert party is the only way I would watch WOC. It was very much worth it to me.

Reserved seating for the parade is for VIP tours. Actually, they added VIP seating for WOC a few months ago, too. The VIP tours are pricey. I don't think there is any reserved seating for the parade for any of the dinner packages. People in the front row can sit on a curb.

No idea how the Frozen packages work, but since Frozen is all seats, you know you'll have one.

We've done both the WOC dinner package and the desert package. The dinner package was about 1.5 years ago and was awful. We had to stand for 45+ minutes waiting for the show to start crowded with a bunch of other people. My daughter has anxiety issues and it was really tough on here. We treated ourselves to the Dessert Package for Thanksgiving last year. Wonderful experience. Table and chairs with no one crowding around us. Relaxing atmosphere and a server to take care of our every need. I'll never watch WOC any other way.

Actually, WOC has had seating since at least 2010 for VIP tours.
I guess my server didn't know about that, lol. I asked what those seats were for and she told me they were recently added for VIPs and that the VIPs always had to stand. :upsidedow

They changed the seating. Previously it had been benches, angled. They were able to increase the seating area by changing to chairs. The overflow to the previous seating area was standing, but the majority was on benches. Since VIP tours increased so dramatically over the last year, they probably had to do something.

Wow, thank you everyone. You've really given me a lot to think about. Especially with the WOC options! Thank you!!!!!!
