Firstly, can someone tell me whether all the special dinners etc are for adults only, or whether you can take children?

Secondly, does anyone have the number that I should dial to make reservations, when they open, as I am calling from England so the WDW-DINE number does not apply!

Many thanks

I'm pretty sure that the special dinners are for adults only...The reserve and Signiture dinners are about pairing wine with food, and with each course there will be someone explaining the food choice and someone explaining the wine - so they are a cross between a lecture and a dinner- so to speak. The Food and Wine pairings are the same format - last year at The Coral Reef- all 30 of us were seated close together at 4 tables (In other words, you do not get your own table, but are sharing a table with other adults) to facilitate being able to hear the wine and food descriptions- children would have been extremely out of place. Of course, I'm referring to young children- I suppose that a well-behaved teenager might be okay, but they wouldn't be able to drink the wine and would probably be bored- since wine is half of what the dinner is all about. The Party for the Senses is similar to a cocktail party. I would ask Reservations when you call.....
As for calling for ressies, the only number that I've seen is WDW-Dine (407-939-3463); but you might be able to call CRo and get transferred also.

Thanks for your help! I had a feeling that they would be more adult oriented, so we'll either get a babysitter or just enjoy the other aspects of the festival until our son is a little older!

nasmith, I'm thinking about doing the food and wine pairing and was looking for more information. Can you give me some more details? What I'm curious about is is it a dinner? Meaning could I plan this in place of my dinner meal? And is it a set menu? I'm just curious as to what it's all about. Thanks in advance.

The Food and Wine pairing at the Coral Reef last year was a complete dinner - a fixed menu with 4 courses (Yummy- Seafood Bouillabaisse, crab cheesecake, honey-lacquered duck, and a sorbet trio) that the chef designed around the wines that would be served (4 wines fromChateau St. Michelle). It was definitely more than enough for dinner. I'm pretty sure that it is "pot luck" what vineyard is hosting each pairing, and what food will be served. Hope that helps....Jill

Hey Bre'r Karen- We'll be there at the same time- maybe we'll be at some of the same dinners???

Thanks! That sounds wondeful Jill. I think we're going to try for the food and wine pairing at Le Cellier on Thursday the 23rd. And Maybe we'll see you at the festival. We'll be the drunk mother and daughter stumbling round the world showcase :)
